Yea from what I remember both have a player option year 3 I believe.

I think it would have to be year 4.

Yea sorry I meant after his third year.

Imagine this team with Adebayo having a fantastic rookie year :droop:. That Olynk signing would look like a genius move.

I am really excited about our roster, and everything we can do.

Olynk will probably get about 25 minutes of ball at the starting 4 spot. He allows us to go big on teams, and is a very versatile offensive threat that can hit from 3. He is also capable of giving us minutes at the 5 if need be. For those of you who don't know Kelly, the guy is a dog. You could argue that he was the heart and sole of the Celtics over the last couple of years. He's a warrior, and isn't well liked around the league because he's a bit nasty, dirty, and plays extremely hard.

Kelly Olynk signals a move to bully ball from the Miami Heat. The Heat are now versatile enough to play any type of style, but what sets them apart is their physicality and toughness. This team just feels like Heat basketball, and while we are not the Warriors, we are doing something very different than the rest of the league.

His contract is an absolute bargain, at 26 he represents somebody who fits with our core age wise, and has room to grow in his own right.

Dragic/TJ
Dion/Elington/JRich
Mcgruder/Winslow
Olynk/JJ/Haslem
Whiteside/Bam

In my biased opinion we are the deepest most versatile team in the NBA. Some teams have more fire power, but I bet nobody will have more grit and desire night in and out. That in itself is going to win us a lot of regular season games, get us in a 7 game series, and I bet this team plays like a 90s Knicks vs Heat series, only difference is other teams aren't ready to get dirty like that these days.

If one of Dion, Winslow, or Bam can develop into a real star in the next 2 seasons, we have a special group around them in regards to role players and fit.

Bullyball died with Michael Jordan. The NBA doesn't permit it anymore. Any team trying that these days would get buried with fouls, flagrant fouls, and suspensions.

What gets under most teams skin now in today's league are players who go hard. Take a guy like Rodney Mcgruder. Is he a dirty player? I don't think so, but I've seen him get into the head of and disrupt other guys with his effort. We have a roster full of that. I don't think there is a team in the league who will play harder than Miami does this year.

You can play bully ball without doing the dirty stuff, and the other team will be the one getting the flagrents and suspensions, when they try to match our intesity. We are going to russle some teams up, especially ones with tired legs on back to backs who aren't ready or willing to engage in a 48 minute war

Our bench is next level, if we can find a way to put a 5 out there that can keep us afloat against the leagues elite teams, we can do a lot of damage vs their bench.

Just look at our bench vs Clevelands

Dwill
Shumpert
Korver
Richardson
Frye

Best of luck to them when they try to match our 2nd unit. This is where teams get frustrated, the stars have to carry more weight against a team like ours, and they are facing guys who want it more with more energy to give. You watch, we are going to trigger a lot of teams this year, and don't be surprised to see stars sit against us either. This team is battle ready, and built to go hard for 48 minutes in 82 games. I think we win 55 games if our core guys stay healthy

Would love to see the 15th roster go to Shelvin Mack. Our only glaring hole is a true PG. TJ can play some, and we play with JJ bringing the ball up a lot, but I still think we need a true backup behind Dragic just in case.

Here are the names out there: Rose, Rondo, Sessions, Brooks, Mack, Felton, Udrih, Jennings, Canaan, Cole

I would take Beno Udrih out of that group. Great vet that will not complain about his role and can give us solid stats if called to play. Cannan is more of a combo guard and Mack is drawing interest from NY who might pay him more. I don't want anything to do with the other clowns except Rose who I would take on the cheap only.

I guess Haywards gonna play 2 guard then. I don't think det is gonna bring kcp back. He's got size on Bradley, but I think bradleys a noticeably better player who will cost a fraction of what kcp will.

Am I crazy to think that we are the 2nd best team in the east right now? We are a BADDDDD matchup for the current Boston team.

Im excited as hell to watch this young team grow for the next 4 years.

Bam - 19 (20 in a few weeks)
Justise - 21
Richardson - 23
Okaro - 24
Tyler Johnson - 25
McGruder - 25
Waiters - 25
Olynyk - 26
Whiteside - 28

Thats 9 role players right there. If these next 3 years turn out to be the actual prime of Hassans career, we are really going to be fun to watch.

They had Tim Hardaway, Jr. Not three years ago:

$16,744,186
$17,581,395
$18,418,604
$19,255,815

^ Tim's 4/72 contract. Who wants to complain about Tyler Johnson's contract now?

Hardaway has turned into a good player. I think you guys got Dion at a surprisingly good cost, but Hardaway was not an overspend IMO - last season per 36:

Dion - 19.0pt / 5.2a / 4.0reb / 2.7to / .488eFG

Hardaway - 19.1pt / 3.0a / 3.7reb / 1.8to / .537eFG

Was Dion offered by NYK? Seems he could have got the money Hardaway got from them. Good job IMO by Heat.

Is Hayward fast enough to defend guards in big minutes? In another post I mentioned that Bradley took a lot of defensive responsibility off of IT. Hayward is going to get his exercise picking up the slack if he starts at SG.

I assume Jaylen will cover 2's and then Tatum/Hayward will decide between the 3/4 ?

That's a lot to ask for a sophomore in Brown. Especially with a new defensive system being implemented. Between Bradley, Olynyk, and Johnson the Celtics are losing almost 75 minutes per game from last season's roster. This team is going to have a different vibe.

I agree with you. Smart will also probably start on the 2's I guess.
