Ben Simmons has 4 years 145 million left on a contract he signed in the offseason. Unless Philadelphia gets him to retire, or offer 3 first round picks plus Seth, no team is going to absorb the contract just because Philadelphia does not want him anymore.

He is going to be a sixer next year and theyre going to have to spend countless hours developing his shooting form.

This is the first time Dwight Howard was the second worst free throw shooter in a team he plays for.

Also lets not ignore that Embiid has his share of blame yesterday. 8 turnovers. He is ALWAYS injured. Always. Theres never a season when he doesnt have an ankle or a knee issue. Hes going to get surgery and may not even be available for the start of the upcoming season.

His cardio/stamina is terrible. He is probably about 15-20 lbs overweight to be in “Heat shape”. Like Charles Barkley said about Anthony Davis, in your mid 20s youre suppose to be super human. All these injuries esrly on is a bad sign of whata to come when youre in your early 30s. There is something wrong with Embiids strength and conditioning programming.

Nearly everyone is tradable, in the last few years "untradeable players" like Wiggins, Wall, Westbrook, and even CP3 were all traded.

Just look at Portland, if they stick with Dame(which I expect they will) they may be willing to move CJ(3 years nearly 100 mil) to get some defensive help at the wings. They can replace CJ's position at SG internally with Powell or Simons(Afernee) and have Ben Simmons be their wing stopper, but that also means they have to find more shooting at one of the wings and a stretch center.

Of course, you have to know Sam Presti is ready to turn Kemba Walker into Ben Simmons in hopes of making him better and getting more out of him.

How about Toronto sign and trade Lowry to Philly for Simmons? They could roll with a frontcourt of Simmons and Siakam.

There will be other teams devoid of talent willing to roll the dice on Simmons, Philly will have options. Whoever ends up with Ben better utilize him as basically an old school PF vs a ball handler in the half court.

To put that into perspective, Elgin Baylor has 23,149 points (31st all time) and Clyde Drexler has 22,195 (32nd). Wade is next at 23,165. You have more RealGM posts than James Harden, Russ, Gary Payton, Larry Bird have NBA regular szn points. Great company.

Wonder where that post count ranks on the Heat forum? Top ten? More likely top 20.

W2G, Iggie. That's why you were chosen to be our leader by popular vote. I was thinking I would be 13th, and there you go. Lucky number 13.

Interesting how some guys just took off. From a Heat fan to a Bucks fan...? PaulieWal is a quality poster, but I feel like he and Mr. Hibachi just jump from bandwagon to bandwagon.

Simmons for McCollum might have some legs to it. CJ did play at nearby Lehigh.

Yeah most non-active Heat posters on that list are LeBron/Bosh fans that left this forum after 2014 (and whenever Bosh got blood clot). Paulie has made a great career change as player comparison board mod or something.

When I first started DefenseWins was the locomotive of this forum but the life (job and child(ren) hit him hard. Some thing with goodboy. Life is undefeated and we gotta appreciate posters like Flash4thewin, Vertical Limit, Rodrizzle, heat4life, BFRESH, heatwillbeback, ZasTerror, Heat_team02, contract, HIF, twix, Hallstar, dolphinatik, RexBoyWonder, unowen85, Dom, Heat3, insfo, Grumpy Heat Fan, HeatVol888????(Brazilian???), heater4life, Sgt P, BIRDMANBIRDMAN, Hoops23 (and more) for keeping this board active for well over a decade. Consistency is so underrated.

I'd play Ben as a big and ask him to rebound the hell out of the ball. Have a quota of 15 shots a game within 10 feet. His shots per game have decreased every year.

On the flip side, he's an absolutely impressive defender. He's somewhere around 6'10", legit, with long arms, and can guard anyone.

You've got to overcompensate with him I think. Make him your go to scorer in every offseason workout, practice, preseason game, etc. He's too willing to play the role player.

This may be more appropriate for Random Thoughts, but we're looking at Michelin restaurants in San Fran to dine, and we stumbled upon International Smoke. Apparently, one of the chefs is Steph Curry's wife..............???!!!

Uhh no. Definitely a tourist trap. They opened up an International Smoke in Houston and it flopped.

If Portland does that they might as well embrace a full rebuild because there is no way Dame wouldn’t demand a trade if Simmons is his running mate.

Hes not tradeable at this time and Doc knows it which is why Doc made the statement he made today about developing Ben in the offseason. If he is successful, he can probably trade Ben next offseasob. But he isnt tradeable at this time. We are talking Markelle Fultz syndrome, except at 40 million per season.

If Portland does that they might as well embrace a full rebuild because there is no way Dame wouldn’t demand a trade if Simmons is his running mate.

I think it'd be a good look, he'd get a quality wing defender and a reconstructed team. Very few 5's could guard against a Simmons drive. Him and Lillard on the break would be fire imo
