So has KLove been officially waived? Or are they still working on it?

Also, Westbrook has until March 1st to figure his shiznit out. Would be nice if it happens sooner rather than later so that we can get the two new players to mesh and get comfortable with the playbook and schemes.

Watch Cavs decide to just let him rot on the bench for the season instead of giving him a chance to get minutes on the Heat. Remaining cautiously optimistic until it actually happens

Teams will do what's on their own best interest, nothing wrong with that. The only way Love gets bought out is if it's with the condition he only goes to a western conference team, again nothing wrong with that stipulation. The team has every right to do that, and if they cant come to an accord, just keep him until the end of the season.

Here's how Love requesting a buyout happened.

There are no conditions to a buy out.

Thats a pleasant surprise. As a 76er he could be given a starting position. That would move Tucker to the bench and keep him fresh. It will be interesting to see what happens.

You all must not be paying attention to what’s been going on in the league for many years now, we’re in the player empowerment era.

Miami just needs to offer him a starting role, it's not like he has to play a lot of minutes as a starter, just ask Meyers Leonard.

Heat would be a better option than the Sixers. We literally have a starting spot for him over here with promise of lots of minutes. He'd just be another guy playing limited minutes on the Sixers

He’s meeting with the Sixers to help avoid any tampering charges.

Pat can’t risk losing that 2029 second-round pick knowing he’ll need it to dump an expiring contract.

I bet the other EC contenders were so happy we didn’t make any deadline moves.

So buyout and waived players both have the same wait period?

Here you go...
A buyout is a mutual agreement between a team and a player to terminate a contract. However, the player who is bought out receives a portion of the money owed on his contract.

In Russell Westbrook's example, both the point guard and the Utah Jazz have to be willing to do a buyout. Westbrook would receive a portion of his salary for the season and the Jazz would free up a roster slot.

If he gets bought out, the veteran point guard will have to wait 48 hours to clear waivers and become a free agent. As a free agent, Westbrook will be able to sign with any team and receive a new contract.

I'm seeing an embarrassing first round exit for some reason .

Might just be basketball blues

Tyler Herro broke the open gym 3 point record for pace in his workout for the Heat during draft time so he could be a sleeper tonight.

whats that panda?

Pat Riley put him through a speed three point drill running up and down the court taking 3’s and apparently he was so lights out that it sealed the deal for us to draft him.

Return to Miami Heat
