The sense I get is they would only entertain trading Herro for an established star (As they were willing to part with him for Lillard two years ago).

It doesn't appear they are willing to do what some here want, which is move him for picks with the "hopes" you are eventually going to be able to turn those picks into a star. And I dont blame them, he is the only player on the roster with his skillset offensively. If you are selling him for picks and punting the season, why half-step it, tear it all the way down and move Bam for "assets" as well. But again, they've show no inclination to go that direction.

Why would Pistons want to sign and trade Duncan? Aren’t they under the cap and can just sign him outright?

a smart move that would prove to be an asset at the MLE is going after NAW, especially if Duncan is gone.

Dude was a huge part of their elite perimeter defense and shot 38% from 3 on 4.5 attempts. right now our only guard that can defend at a high level is Mitchell. now whether people want to argue it takes away from Pelle, truth is Miami is still going to try to win games and it would be a smart rare two way signing.

Maybe to preserve their space? The problem is, I can't see what we'd want from them that they'd be willing to give.

If a sign and trade, and it is not into their cap space, then does that mean they are sending us a player back? I do not get the benefit of a sign and trade to a team with cap space.

you see him going for less? hes only 26 and just recently finding his game. I think he projects to improve. and 12M is not much for a 3&D guard headig into their prime. how much do you think he goes for?

There has not been one day, ONE DAY! That you don't complain about some random sht about your boy Bam.

Jesus fckin Christ man, you're unbearable

It triggers people every time. You know how many posts on here go completely ignored with no reaction from anyone daily? I'd say at least 60%.

Think about that.

Shoot, I’ll even give them Highsmith for good measure for some solid 3&D depth to help Luka focus on offense!

Even if all we get is a second round pick for helping them sign duncan im cool with it

Wiggins for rui knecht and a protected first already fills the short term and long term loss of duncan, plus youre getting more talent back.

Regarding Duncan opting out:

My hope: If I am Pat Rikey I tell D-Rob he is free to pursue any contract he wants with another team, but if he opts in to the other $10 million then that’s all he is getting.

Reality: The Heat always figure out a way to make a short term bad contract into a long term bad one. They will probably re-up D-Rob for 4 years and he will be a permanent bench warmer by mid-season of the first year.

I just do not get why they would do that? What is their benefit to do that rather than just sign him into their cap space? If not using cap space, I get it, but then that means they need to send us equal $$?

As for Lakers deal, yup! That immediately fills in the void of Duncan leaving.
