I've been looking for info on 2-way players to see what Miami will be doing with Martin.

Teams have Bird rights to retain their players, so with Miami probably going over the tax next year they can have the option of retaining Martin.

I'm not seeing any info on bird rights on 2-way players converted to minimums.

Most of the expanded 2-way rules of last year stay except for 2-way players being able to play in the playoffs. So maybe C.Martin is just Oladipo's emergency replacement(because of the depth) until he gets back.

With all the challenges the pandemic brought to NBA rosters last season, the league relaxed its rules on the use of two-way players (players under team control who can bounce between the G-League and big club). Two-way players could play in up to 50 NBA games at first, then that was loosened again and they could play in an unlimited number of games and the playoffs (pre-pandemic, a two-way player could only be on the NBA roster for 45 days).

If the team has no concerns about games played under the two way rules then Martin is going to be playing a whole lot of games with us. I think he eventually gets guaranteed before the year ends so he can participate in the playoffs.

Heat’s Udonis Haslem explains why he has ‘a goal’ of reaching 20 NBA seasons

Udonis Haslem has his sights set on 20 NBA seasons.

“That’s a goal,” Haslem said to the Miami Herald ahead of Monday night’s road game against the Denver Nuggets.

The Miami Heat’s veteran forward and longtime team captain is in his 19th NBA season. He’s not ready to officially commit to a 20th season yet, but it’s clear reaching that mark would be significant to him for multiple reasons.

In the last SEVEN seasons(including this one), the most minutes he's played for an entire season is 260, so he may end up playing 20 seasons but since season 12 he really hasn't contributed much at all on the court, he could have done nearly everything he's contributed to the team as an assistant coach.

They got JA for a reasonable price too. He's an elite garbage man. He gets all the boards and put backs while the rest of the team operates. I love it.

He's been so good off the bench for us, though. As much as he's earned it, I don't think we get better as a team by moving him to the starting lineup in the distant future. Maybe if Oladipo comes back, has a solid year, and we can re-sign him.

Besides, he plays the entire 2nd and 4th quarter and closes games for us, so he's all but a starter.

Sometimes a guy is just too good to continue playing off the bench. See James Harden in OKC. Herro will eventually be the starting shooting guard for this team, its just a matter of when.

He did compare himself with Luka and Tre. Does that sound like someone happy to come off the bench, it doesnt matter how many mins he plays or if he ends games, it’s about being a starter. If he continues playing at this pace no reason hes not starting, either on this team or another but thats another issue.

we should wait til herro/robinson has some great games and trade them for kyrie irving. In this nba age you just cannot win without a superstar.

I found some good tickets to the Heat/Nuggets game at a good price. Debating whether to pull the trigger and make the trek down to the arena again. Hmmm

I am torn on this, i can’t stand Pat B like antics… but considering Joker and his fouling to the face, i get why Morris body checked him.

I think there is a silver lining to this, the team is closing ranks. Maybe that can help provide focus. If this team has a flaw, it seems they get unfocused at times.

Let’s hope this provides intensity
