What team is willing to give Mia 5 first round picks for Bam is the next question.

Or keep Jimmy and give him some real help.

If Denver has any sense they would give up whatever it takes to get Bam to put him next to Jokic seeing what Jokic has done for Faried/Gordon/Grant I can't imagine what him and Bam could be plus Bam is a elite all round defender. The Nuggets would finally stop being pretenders with that move.

Bam is giving me Mashburn/Jones vibes.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Just rewatched the 2nd and 3rd aquarter and man so many things went wrong. It started off against the closing unit. Nets strategically attacked the corner which is where Spo hides the weakest defenders. For the past two years Strus has always had a tendency to cheat off the corner shooter when he is assigned the 3 pt shooter. Never understood why he keeps doing that, but yesterday Vincent joined him on the stupidity. Nets hit three straight threy leading into the half. Both Vincent and Strus got caught sagging off of Cam Johnson. Vincent then goes and shoot an airball in response then immediately gets caught sagging in no man's land giving up a wide open trey Royce O'Neal. Started the Nets moment and comeback closing the lead to 6 or 5.

Closing Unit in 1st half

J. Butler - B. Adebayo - G. Vincent - M. Strus - T. Herro
OffRtg 116.7, DefRtg 260.0

The second half start with Nets red hot from trey against the starters. Horrible response by the starters.. Nets take lead.

K. Love - J. Butler - B. Adebayo - G. Vincent - T. Herro
OffRtg 60.0, DefRtg 211.1

So Spo brings in Martin to enhance the defense now the offense goes straight in the tank. Vincent can't run point, missing layups. Love is out so now instead of Love being the post passer now Martin is the post passer and running point which he sucks at and leads to bad passes and turnovers now the Nets lead explodes!

3rdvQuarter 2nd Unit

Butler - B. Adebayo - C. Martin - G. Vincent - T. Herro/M. Strus
OffRtg O, DefRtg 233.3

The offense didn't play well until they benched Vincent for Lowry.

The Heat can get by with two bad defenders in Love and Herro in the court together but when Vincent mentally goes in the tank defensively now you have problems. Vincent is not a reliable glue guy full time. Its why Lowry and Dipo was so important but those guys health can't be relied on. Spo has a good idea using Butler and Bam as post players using Love as the passer and screener. It works the offense has totally improved overall with the starters. Love is just a hold over for Jovic to do the same. But the Heat point guard situation needs a total revamp.

If I was GM of any of the top 10 teams, jb is not a trade option, I think even Jimmy knows this is reality...jb is a great player and Has proven to be one NBA greatest competitors ever

He has half the talent of any of the top 50 players In history But it's willing to go head to head with any of them And
"get some "
But let's face it, He is old And a bit grumpy...fits uniquely in the Current Miami style of playing...jb Is a prima Donna, Set on his ways...Because he has been through a lot of basketball And Knows the way to win

In fairness about the UD night thing ... the whole UD thing has been unserious for several years now. I mean UD didn't even play on UD night. There's no reason for the players to take the occasion any more seriously than the organization. UD night, if we were going to have one, should have been saved for a game when we were actually prepared to give UD some minutes. Ideally the final regular season game vs the Magic.

But I really couldn't care less about UD night. I'm upset because it was an important game for this team for playoff seeding and they played like it was a summer league game. Like the game was interrupting their vacation. Frankly the train wreck would have been worse if Strus hadn't gone nuts early in the game.

Decent metrics but without Jimmy going ham it's just not enough tonight.

I’m officially on the trade Jimmy train, don’t see how we have the pieces or flexibility to put a contender around him before he really starts to decline

He's in fantastic shape.

He'll always have to deal with minor ailments, but if he can avoid any major injuries, there's no reason to think that he'll be unable to be an impactful player for years to come.

Bam doesn’t make sense unless it’s the haul of the century

The haul would just need to look like what market has been bearing in recent times.

3-4 unprotected 1st round picks, swaps, with young talent, and filler.

Return to Miami Heat
