Conditioning had nothing to do with his early career injuries. He was like D Rose, just had one of those bodies that wasn't durable. If there was one thing he could have changed to lengthen his prime would have been his playing style. Going full speed against centers who are bigger and stronger than you and constantly ending up on the floor probably contributed to his injuries. It was pretty much every game you'd see Wade on the floor after driving to the rim. If he added a jumper and played more conservatively maybe he wouldn't gotten hurt as much. The conditioning issues started when he was past his prime

He made a change in his game right after the 07 season because he was just attacking the basket like a mad man and falling awkwardly all the time.. developed his midrange game, develop a back to the basket/post moves in his arsenal to take away some of the pounding he was getting on his knees.

Derrick Rose would have benefited from it if he did the same..

But imagine if those two were in the three ball era.. not sure what kind of players they would be if they were asked to shoot 3’s 7 times a game like most of these guards do now.

Miami doesn't have much to offer in picks—especially when considering teams like the New York Knicks, Thunder, Jazz, Spurs and others that have significantly more draft capital.

Still, the Heat have some ammunition should a star player become available, depending on Herro's market (either directly or for the draft compensation from a third team). Including other contracts like Robinson and/or Oladipo could help match any player in the league.

"Can" and "should" are different conversations. Should Miami go after Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns or Bradley Beal?

Intel suggests Lillard isn't available this offseason (TBD), but the other two might be attainable at the right price. Would the Wizards specifically value Herro as a young replacement for Beal? Does that make sense for Miami?

A deal built around Herro, Martin and Oladipo would boost Miami's payroll even higher and a massive tax bill nearing $200 million (with Strus and Vincent returning). Find a way to swap out Martin for Robinson, and the $130.4 million tax bill is still unwieldy.

Towns will earn $36 million this coming season but jumps to $49.2 million for 2024-25, which only sets Miami down the same punitive path under the new rules.

The Heat could shop for a star, but the team needs to trim payroll while maintaining its surprisingly-effective depth. Cashing out Herro for flexibility and future picks may be more productive than considering expensive names that keep the team in financial straits.

If not Herro, then it's probably Lowry who has to go. But the length of Herro's deal vs. Lowry's expiring suggests the former.

He’s shouldn’t have got his meniscus removed in college, that killed his longevity. The shoulder stuff was a freak injury. The rib stuff in the ECF too. He’s likely to 20 as it is but injuries 100% robbed him of very key moments

While this looks a bit bleak, We’ve got almost 40 mill in expirings in Lowry and Dipo. Then there’s Duncan’s 20mill which in an ideal world can be moved at some point without us having to attach too much.

Even if it can’t though, I believe that the article was assuming that we bring Gabe and Strus back for a combined $24mill if I read that right? If so, I don’t think we do that, nor do I think it’s a priority. I think we pick one of them with Strus being the cheaper option. Going to depend on how the roster shakes out tho

Josh Hart needs to be booed every time he steps on the court in Miami for the rest of his career. Also, Jimmy didn’t carry anyone. This was a great overall team effort until the finals

Dallas is a team that I look at that would have plenty of use for many of our pieces through a S&T. They are looking for ready now players to play with Luka not draft assets. Herro would be a great fit playing with Luka. Dallas also wanted Lowry in the past as a vet leader.

how is Wade your fav player ever and you don't know that his knee injuries came from a really bad surgery decision back in college, that was irreversible after the fact?
