I hate that Jimmy’s era with the Heat is coming to an end like this. I’m upset about how it’s ending, but It was a great run. Having said that, I don’t blame him for how he feels. We made those runs on the back and shoulders of Jimmy Butler. He led us to places that we had no business being, like the finals and the eastern finals. Then time after time we have a chance to put another (star) next to him and we either can’t, don’t, or won’t. We had the opportunity to get Kyrie for Kyle Lowry and some fillers to make the money work and we passed. Even worse, it came out that Jimmy wanted that trade to happen. We’ve been going at 80 mph towards this ending for 3 years already.


To be clear, I love Jimmy, but my loyalty is to the team. Sympathize with his position, as I might, he still has to go, sooner rather than later.

I completely get it, but this is why I'm no longer just a fan of a team. Riley's words may have help run off LeBron, holding back money from Wade who was never the top salary of a Miami team ran him out of town and now publicly telling him to shut his mouth may have set the cart in motion for Butler to leave. For as much of a legendary career Riley has had, he's made some pretty big mistakes in the last 10 years and I think he's lost his fastball. 2019... Butler, Bam and Dragic were the core with a rookie Herro, 6 seasons later Bulter, Bam and now Herro is the core with not much real "good" talent brought in, it's pretty crazy to think about that much time going by and only roleplayers were brought in. I'm not a fan of Miami's FO and it would just keep upsetting me to keep following a team of a FO I have little to no faith in, it's why I quit being a lifelong Bulls fan.

I get it man. I don’t judge anybody that jumps ship with the players. For me, personally, I was introduced to basketball at 7 years old, not long after Zo arrived . From Miami, born and raised. I Started watching it with my uncle, who was like my father, and my cousin. Fell in love with it and 3 decades later I still love it. I have kids, a wife, and work now so I don’t get to watch too often anymore. That’s why it would be easier for me to just disconnect than to jump to another team. I couldn’t imagine myself ever following another team. I am also a dormant Marlins fan. I love that team, but they piss me off so much.

Bitch and moan all you want about Bams inconsistent scoring start but you can’t deny he bust his ass every night and he’s ALWAYS available. Love you Jimmy, 2nd favorite player in the league, 3rd or so favorite player ever but if you’re going to miss 2 weeks then additional days than you were supposed to for your own personal “conditioning” and this is the effort you give in back to back games literally quitting on your guys then you can fuxk all the way. Sit his ass and trade him to the highest bidder. I’m sick of this ****, misses massive chunks of every season and then spends 30 other games half assing it at best, that’s not how we operate.

They go to the finals and let the staring PF walk for 10 mil a year in "hopes" Giannis would say no to a super max and also sign with Miami, what a load of ****. Multiple off-seasons doing nothing because the FO was waiting to see if they could get a high-level player for pennies on the dollar and all that happened is they were utilized for leverage to make trades better.

I’m under the strong impression this has been brewing for a long time. Jimmy looked one foot out the door when we almost lost in the play-in a few years back before going on a freak run to the finals. In retrospect, this would have been the perfect time to deal him but obviously hindsight is 20/20 and you don’t deal players that backpack you to finals runs.

Props to Jimmy for admitting it’s a dead partnership though since the Heat seem willing to hang on until the very last strand

I don't usually follow players, Butler just happened to be leaving about the time I had enough. As of now, I wouldn't feel good becoming a fan of my local team in OKC when they're a top team even though I go to a few games each year. Maybe it's time for me to finally go deep into stats and write some new applications to better interpret stats in a different way than what's happening now (at least to the public).

Yup not even really mad at Jimmy since i knew this was inevitable. FO wanted to have it’s cake and eat it too by having Jimmy break his back this year in some type of prove it deal with no guarantee of extension.

Miami used 5 1st round picks since acquiring Butler, the difference now vs 10 or so years ago, they just used nearly all those picks vs making moves to get players with real upside like for instance... Dragic. The only one they traded for an older Rozier who was a low efficiency high volume mostly offensive PG, why?
