The reason being is one is for Miami Heat related stuff and the other thread is for Rumors and other teams. It just seems like people mix them up

I feel exactly same way, even some other fan bases, but I don't want to overhype myself, we are so close but at the same time so far. But is definitely exciting.

With the cap now set at 58.05, we're still 2-3 million short of being able to max out Bron/Wade/Bosh outright, but we have hit a point where, with no state income tax, I'm pretty sure our "maxes" (if each guy takes around 800K less) are actually worth more than what Chicago or New York could offer.

Also, it's more heat on Colangelo.

I think we are actually pretty close to being able to sign 3 maxes and keep Beasley if we ship out Chalmers. Feeling too lazy to crunch the numbers, but I'm sure we're very close.

Regardless, even without Lebron (and I'd still be ecstatic without him), we could have Wade, Bosh, Beasley and $14 mil to spend. Hell yeah.

I'm not sure how much Chalmer's salary is. But it's looking like we'll have at least 14 million left over.

Has anyone done the math in regards to Salary Cap and signing roll players if you guys land LBJ? Just curious.

Both possibilities sound pretty great to me. After all the doom and gloom from alot of Heat fans the sun is shining (surprise, surprise) over South Beach again.

From The Bulls Board:

On ESPNEWS Orlando Alzugaray from Miami radio is saying Toronto may S&T Bosh for Beasley + 2 2st rounders.

I'd do it, because even if we don't get Lebron, you gotta think that Beasley's salary + the extra 2 mill in cap room would be enough to re-sign Haslem.

That'd put us at ~$19 mil in cap space. Nice.

Moving Chalmers only saves around 300k (He costs 800k, min cap holds are like 475k).

But the no state income tax combined with LeBron/Bosh/Wade only having to take like a 1 million paycut now definitely makes a HUGE difference.

Yeah, Wade also wants Haslem back, even if Bron doesn't come. We have Bosh and probably Haslem, so we are covered without having Beasley here. Also Beasley can develop over there in Toronto, and probably comes back to us a couple years from now.

Do you guys think Erik is still going to be the man on the bench or do you think Riles has to take control of such big names?

ok. i may be way overanalyzing this but its been gnawing at the back of my head all day. When Wilbon asked wade and bosh about lebron, they were very dismissive and bosh said that they would wait so as to not "tamper" with him. He actually used the word tamper which to me was odd on a few levels. First of all i dont think its a word bosh would arbitrarily use. Its almost that hes been hearing it from other people as if its something he needed to specifically avoid. I believe if the dream team has been discussed before free agency began riles would do anything to avoid garnering any suspicion. Bosh was very chatty before FA began and then very quiet as if someone told hiim to shut it as to avoid any "tampering" suspicion.

As i said, not to nitpik but i just find it very odd that he used that word specifically when asked about lebron joining the team.

Love Haslem, but I rather gamble on talent and youth with Beasley on the bench with a relative small contract to what ti will take to bring back Haslem.

Return to Miami Heat
