I like Pelle's agression so far. I hope he can become efficient on offense because he really attacks the defense.

Ware averaged 2.5 fouls per 40 minutes in each of his 2 college seasons. Whiteside averaged 3.7 fouls per 40 minutes in his lone college season.
Some seem eager to assign Ware the label of Whiteside 2.0 because he was the last player to play for Miami with similar length. There are other players with similar measurables that have existed in the NBA.

Missed the game today but glad to see the guys look more comfortable. I have to imagine getting more accustomed to playing together and less of Alondes Williams ballhogging helped guys show their game.
Ware is gonna love NBA spacing after what he had to deal with at Indiana last season.

Beenie is a late adopter on young guys. Hed rather trade Ware, JJJ, Jovic and Herro for Lauri. To each his own, but Im willing to give Ware plenty of time to grow. A mobile big who plays both ends of the court is a nice piece.
I dont see the Hassan comparison at all, but whatevs. Ware is more athletic by a decent margin and possesses similar length. He is also a much more fluid offensive option.

Pairing that talent with caring about improving and playing team ball will go a long way. Last season at Indiana Ware was anything but a block chaser. He actually showed too much restraint at times while aiming to work within the defensive system. This was while he was legit surrounded by terrible defensive personnel.

Hassan was a big Oaf while Ware moves so much more fluid. Not a fan of that lazy comparison.

With that said, most rookie bigs deal with an inflated foul rate in year 1 while making the adjustment to defending in the NBA.

I think Lively is probably a good comparison. He might have some more natural offensive talent than Lively though. Fair to assume that his rookie year requirements though will be similar - screen, roll, lob, defend. I don’t see a world where we are throwing the ball to Ware in the low block like we are in SL and getting him to go to work next season.

I want to see a seasoned Ware playing D with Bam. That could be something. Hell, put Pelle and Keshad in there too. Thats going to be tough to run offense against.

Ware (20)
Keshad (23)
Pelle (23)

We all know Herros A game is nice. Problem is he doesnt bring it often enough and has speed bumps that further compound the inconsitency every season. Its sad, because I know game 2 Boston Herro should rear its head about 3 out of every 5 games. He can do it. Right when he starts to establish a rhythm though, he will sprain his dick or forget how to play bball. Its wild.
That is a nice core group of young guys though, for real. Now imagine tossing a young allstar amongst them (Antman, Luka, Wemby). Would be elite.....that's how close (and how far away) we are.

Good stat
The whiteside comp is apt in my eyes for several reasons. They physically look the same and move similarly. Ware gives off block chasing vibes. He also looks uncomfortable at times figuring out the timing and positioning of his screen setting.
The comp isn’t all bad. Whiteside was dominant at times.
More than anything, I question the fit next to Bam and I wonder what Bam’s future is on this team come the end of his next contract.
