They've been monitoring the Oden situation closely. But too early to say if he can actually play.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY! 3.0
I think Miller is done. They had a small article on him on the last page of ESPN Magazine and he was in a ton of pain.
I feel bad for Mike.
Here's a truer accounting: Miller never went back inside the locker room. He couldn't take the crush. Instead, he hid inside the trainer's room, inside that familiar torture chamber, slumped over one of the massage tables, bone spent. Shane Battier finally eased up beside him, careful not to clap his back, and he pointed at the pictures that lined the room, inspirational blowups from Miami's title in 2006: Take your medicine and one day you might know this. Now they would join those men on the walls; now they would live forever among the ranks of the motivators. Miller nodded and smiled and closed his eyes, but deep down he knew he was different from those men on the walls, just as he was different from James.
Mike Miller was victorious and halfway immortal, like the others, but alone he continues to suffer. The day after Miami's championship parade, Miller finally went to the doctor again. The fantasy narrative was over. Reality had made its hunched return. While his teammates continued in their basking, he was seeing a back surgeon, the start of a barbaric summer. His career might be over; at age 32 it's hard for him to even climb the stairs. All these days and weeks later, his hurt has not gone away. That's what real pain is. And there is no drug in the world-including winning-that will ever help him forget it.
I feel bad for Mike.

I've never wanted to punch someone in the face so badly. Really hoping to run into him at a game one day. I won't hesitate.

From ESPN chat earlier..
Not the best options, but for what we're looking for it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
John (from Cincinnati):
Can the Heat bid on Brendan Haywood? He'd be an upgrade at least....
John Hollinger:
No, only teams under the cap can bid. Haywood is likely to clear auction because he still has four years left on his deal, at which point Miami would be free to sign him for the minimum.
Alex (Idaho):
Which team has a shot at/desire to claim Darko?
John Hollinger:
Darko will likely pass through the amnesty auction because a higher bid will be required to cover the non-guaranteed portion on his second year. At that point somebody will sign him to a minimum or biannual exception type of deal; have to think Miami would give him a look, right?
Not the best options, but for what we're looking for it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Looks like Haywood still has 4 years on his deal .. so someone will need to make a 4 year commitment if they bid for him.

Darko first, Haywood second and Turiaf last. Turiaf is always injured and isn't any bigger than Joel. PEACE.

1.Haywood
2. Haywood
3. Haywood
4. Tuiaf
5. Darko
Haywood has shown to be a good low post defender, rebounder and overall big player. Not great on offense but not as bad as Joel.

Let's get Oden to troll the league and get him a ring before Durant.

I think it is 48 hours from the time they were "amnestied". So we should know by this weekend for sure.
