People are unhappy because of their unrealistic expectations and lack of understanding of the salary cap... The fact we got Markief for the minimum is great ...Only championship contenders (Lakers) get players like him for the minimum.. Sacramento just gave Alex Freaking Len 4 millions a year...

Say what you want about this team. They might win or loose but they will compete like crazy.. Hopefully some of the PJ tucker and Markief nastiness rubs on Bam.. We are also a bigger better defensive team that we were last year

Lowry
Duncan
Jimmy
Markief
Bam

Herro,Tucker, Dedmon off the bench sounds good to me

I would go after George Hill ( bought out by Philly)

If Oladipo can return to 70% to what he was then that is the icing in the cake

Bring back Avery here. Felt like he did not get a decent chance to play last year because of the injuries.

But in the games he played, he shot the ball well and defense was good too.

I'm not going to feel sorry for being somewhat negative. There's franchises that have it way worse than us, but that doesn't mean we've been the gold standard in our handling of contracts and draft picks. We've had some real blunders in recent years. I think even Riley would admit there's been some bad mistakes here since they've constantly had to trade out of bad contracts.

Either way, this is not a bad team right now. In fact, it could be in the ECF if everything went right. There's just a lot of question marks and scenarios that need to happen for them to get there. That kind of strategy usually doesn't work in sports. But at the very least we will punch teams in the face.

Do you honestly believe this team is getting out of the East?

If the answer is no, then I guess the only reason we did these moves is to fulfill promise to Butler that we are trying to win now.... but it won't be enough. The three headed monster in Brooklyn is still there. And the Bucks are still better than us.

So what are we talking about here?

The truth is, we should have traded anything and everything for James Harden. It would have prevented the monster in Brooklyn, and greatly improved our path out of the East for the foreseeable future.

You can call this post "negativity" but I call it realism. What you want me to do, not talk so you don't get sad?

The game is all about matchups. If we learned anything this past year its that anybody can be beat.

This will be the ultimate test for UD to stay....Mickey may have to go into the tax to re-sign him.

Yep and with only 3.4 till luxury and 3 spots to fill we can't afford anyone over 1 mil costs. Means 0 experience rooks for those three spots. Because of last seaaon I don't think we could get yurtseven under that. Probably headed to a two way.

Idk because the tax isnt calculated until the end of the season, it would be foolish to make moves now to stay a couple million out of the tax when moves can be made over the year to get under if need be.

But it wouldn't be a couple mil in space with 0 exp rooks in those last 3 spots it is still less than a mil in space under tax. Unless we are trading a higher salary player for one with less salart coming back then we aren't getting lower this year.

Lol I’ve hated Marqueef for years but happy to have him. It’s an important signing for out frontcourt rotation that gives us some nice depth and versatility. And it’s beyond obvious the FO concluded that were indeed soft af last season and Riley is done with that chit lmao

Now just re-sign Dipo and LETS GOOOO

And Yes I will keep harping on this because it was a massive F- up by Riley which killed the rest of Butler's career and our chances.

Brooklyn health is still a question mark, they still have to prove they can field their Big 3 once the playoff starts.

Bring back UD and sign Dipo for the LLE. And that’s a wrap. Solid off-season. We will be nasty

I think we'll need a point guard as well, but I agree...

If we don’t sign UD and he goes to the Lakers I’ll throw up.

Oladipo is a serious wild card. A healthy and contributing Oladipo changes everything.

You guys want positivity okay

I think our team is one of the best, if not the best, defensive team in the NBA.

Defensively we are cream of the crop.

Minimun contracts don't count against the cap right? We still have 16M available or am I tripping?

We are hard capped at 144 or something because of the Lowry sign and trade.

Only other obstacle is the tax line, which Mickey may not want to cross.
