It should be noted that Waiters did win a championship ring while on his contract

As for Herro a it seems a few teams will have max cap space next offseason so we are just playing with fire. All it takes is one team to screw it all up.

We can save more by trading him rather than paying him. Signing a bad contract always bites you on the ass. He isn't a guy to build around. Don't pay him like he is.

Im trading him straight up for beverly and clarkson..he can be someone else’s max contract slot.. not ours..

That would be an awful lot of guards to find playing time for...

Strus/Oladipo/Clarkson

They can do bojan and clarkson, that will address two needs for us..

Herro is not in the long term plans, if someone else wants to pay then let them pay.

Unfortunately that number is not realistic. If we are dumb enough to let the market set the price, we will be paying him the max. Dumb teams always pay more. If we are smart we should be trying to get Herro to sign now a little below the max. Say his max is 35 mil, sign him for 30 mil. Thats the same price we are paying Lowry and we save millions, and since hes not on the max it makes him more attractive trade bait.

We can save more by trading him rather than paying him. Signing a bad contract always bites you on the ass. He isn't a guy to build around. Don't pay him like he is.

It all depends if team X wants to play along. The bigger ramification would be losing our best asset for nothing vs getting destroyed with the tax. If we can see this a mile away, one can imagine people actually paid to do this realize the same. Then again we gladly spent 180 million dollars on Duncan and Lowry, so who knows man, who knows.

Miami may go the Phoenix route perhaps, let him play out the season, earn the max. If he comes out putting up 22-25PPG on good efficiency as a starter, chances are he will get that Max. However they will let another team bid on him and see what the market is offering.

His max is 32 mill. However I am not suggesting that. People on here are suggesting 20 and lower per. That's ridiculous. The Heat likely offer a little or equal to Bam contract. Between 25-30. I say basically what Lowry getting but for 5 years.

You guys are slowly realizing when I said this year roster was built to last for one year or 2 years max. That is why I mocked many on here talking about these players 3 plus years from now. Only Bam is projected to be here long term.

Happy for Darius that if we couldn't secure his services he'd land in a good situation. We worked him out twice pre-draft and I'd hoped we could retain him on our second two-way contract.

He's unmovable in the post. Kuminga drove into him and just... dropped to the floor lol That said, Days moves well into the right spaces off ball, can make a 3 well, switches, guards 3-5, moves well doing it. Plays within himself and has an excellent attitude. I think your team will love him.

I used to share that perspective, but now with Drobs contract being so toxic that it would take at least 1 FRP plus other bad things like taking a different bad contract just to move the guy… I am leaning towards the philosophy of let em walk.

As another example of when it’s best to just let a player walk, I still remember that poison pill contract for Tyler Johnson too. The Heat ended up having to trade him for Ryan Anderson and then they had to stretch Anderson’s contract just to sign Yimmy. The Heat were paying that contract until this offseason when it finally came off the books.

Surprisingly well for a guy his size. He's a cube. I mean that in the best way in terms of strength. And he'll benefit from your fitness program. But the caveat is that it's Summer League, right? Still, he stood out as a smart player knowing where to be and what to do consistently. Really nice shooting touch to boot.
