Nah, no worries here. He is coming back from a hand injury being out for 2 months in an elimination game, nobody will remember this after a week it happened.

Some just have extremely off the wall expectations on the type of player you want him too be. We need better roster construction and more raw talent around Bam and Butler plain and simple.

The problem is that those types of players are so expensive in the NBA. I’ve heard Celtics fans say that they think Grant Williams will want 18-20mill per year.

Honestly I’m hoping that we see internal improvement from Jovic and Highsmith. If one of those two turns into a real rotation player next year that would be huge.

Other than that I would like to see love back on a minimum if he’d take it and maybe we could steal back Jae Crowder from the Bucks on the cheap. He’s a free agent and it doesn’t seem like the Bucks liked his stint there much.

Jae is washed but he’s not a horrible bench 20mpg option.

Plus we have pick 18 and Duncan and Lowry’s contracts. Potentially that gives us multiple options. We could just draft a young athletic wing and develop him or we could potentially try to move the pick and one of Duncan or Lowry for a PF. Maybe one of the clippers guys.

I’m pretty optimistic about this offseason actually. Even if we just focus on realistic stuff and not Dame dreams.

We sure Jae's washed rather than just getting stuck in schemes that don't suit his limited skillset or getting buried behind jumbo depth on the Bucks?

The expectations are fair. In a salary cap league and with the new onerous rules you're gonna need your two best players to carry the offense. In the previous series Bam wasn't doing enough offensively and guys like Caleb, Gabe, Duncan stepped up. In the finals I think he's been good on offense and Butler been MIA. It's a different series and be competitive is we had the Butler from the first two round series. As much as everyone wants to get on Struss and Caleb in drop of production Butler is the main reason this is likely a 5 game series and not a 6 or 7 game one. And he's probably hurt if we had to guess.
Getting a PF to Bam would be ideal but its unrealistic we're gonna get some elite especially if we are going in the 3rd star route chasing Dame/Beal. More than not, its gonna be a min or undrafted guy next season

I need my 2 best players to carry the team. Roster has needed an additional playoff scorer ever since Dragic declined.

Hes on the trade block regardless of what happens. The problem is who is willing to bite. awful contract, one of the untradeable contracts in the NBA and the first year of it has not kicked in yet. Should have let him seek an offer sheet to match, we would have matched it at a 40% discount, or let him walk. Bad salary cap management

Major hyperbole

23 year old 20 ppg scorer and career 38% volume 3-point shooter who can create his own offense and is locked in on a rookie scale extension for 4 years is so far from untradeable in a league where nearly every team is desperate for more reliable 3 pt shooting.

Watch the contracts that go to comparable players over the next 2 offseasons as the cap continues to rise.

His contract comparison is Jalen Brunson, and Herro is not in that league. Limited offensive player and a revolving door defensively

That pass at the end, though.

I'd be shocked if Herro plays. And if he does, I can't imagine he'd get more than 10-12 minutes. Basically a Kevin Love-ish type stint.

Brunson is obviously now seen as a great value contract. Herro is also 3 years younger and should be squarely in his prime at the expiration of his contract. I'm not trying to litigate Herro as a player. We're all pretty aware. Your take regarding his contract in the landscape of the NBA is mistaken and hyperbolic.

If Herro plays no reason he should have problems with his hands. If it was just a broken fingers. The only issue would be conditioning. I broke my thumb on my shooting hand. Once it healed there were no lingering issues. Unless he had ligament damage or some type deformity when it healed.

Broken fingers doesn't prevent him from staying in shape. Should of been working out since the injury

If Herro plays he better go off to distract everyone from the fact that he's been sitting while apparently close to 100%.

I know we have a lot to "lose" like the finals but I think at this point we look mentally defeated and if Tyler being suited up helps the guys raise their level a little bit and he can go out and hit a couple of shots or a few assists and we raise our overall play by just having him involved then it's a good thing. I don't expect he's going to come in and drop 26-5
