As you age though, your tastes in music change. I had people tell me this when I was a young buck, and I thought they were bullchitting me, but it turns out they were right. Plus, the stuff that rappers talk about in their lyrics has no relevance to me at this point in my life. Listening to someone talk about bustin' guns, smokin' buds, and how many bitches they phuck seemed cool in my 20's, but I'm a 41 year old man.
As proof of my "hip-hop past", what y'all know about that "Shell Shocked" by Mac?, one of the few non-lame No Limit releases.
For me, I just absolutely hate the style of rap that has been out the last 5-7 years. I like flow and rhyming that flows to the beats whereas rappers nowadays talk over beats and the flow to me is horrid. I do dig Suicide Boys and Ghostmane tho. I like old 8Ball MJG, The Clipse or Mobb Deep style.
