Where’s this narrative coming from that Jimmy was bad for most of the season. He averaged 21/6/5 on 62 TS% (highest of his career) BEFORE the all star break. The only real knock on him is that he played 44 out of the 59 games but that’s life with Jimmy, he’s older and has a lot of miles.

Oh he’s been pretty damn good. He’s a top 10 player in the league but he’s coasted his ass off on at least 50% of the games he’s played in addition to the 15 he’s missed. If the team wasn’t rotating 10 undrafted guys all year it might not be an issue but unfortunately that isn’t the case

Fans want him to be superman all the time. He obviously doesn't think that he can do that. Or maybe he wants leave space for other players to grow. I don't know which is more likely.

For the season no. Not for what he's paid. We have to demand more for the franchise player who on 200 mil + before we demand more from min guys like Struss and Valeb.
Butler for the season hasn't been an allstar level player and hasn't been an All NBA player. He needs to play like on all season to justify that contract

I don’t fully disagree, I’d prefer him to coast if we get elite playoff Jimmy as a result but then again we don’t have the roster construction for that. The hand our guys have been dealt is a pretty bad one. With all the undrafted bums regressing to their norm 2 of Jimmy Bam and Herro have to basically be flawless for us to even have a chance to win late in the game.

Hell I just watched the lakers beat a raptors team (who’s kicked our asses this season) by double digits with LeBron out and AD only scoring 8 points. When’s the last time we’ve won a game Jimmy sat and Bam did nothing offensively? There’s just a massive gap in overall talent compared to us from team to team

Team is pretty broken. Honestly, I’m expecting a first round exit and major changes. I do think you can build a championship calibre team around Jimmy and Bam, but the pieces around them need to be significantly improved and the game style needs to be changed. We’re playing dumb at the moment, from the players to the coaching staff to the Front Office.

Had he been playing like he cared all season we’d arguably be a top 3 seed and the team wouldn’t be trying to figure it out 65 games in now that he’s finally decided to try

Jimmy is 33 with a history of missing stretches of almost each season he’s been a pro and the fanbase expects him to carry the load as if he’s 25.

How bout the 25 years old all star who half the fan base is clamoring to be given the keys to the franchise, actually step up and prove he’s deserving of one day being casted into that role.
