Also shot coaching is about the only thing our staff seems competent at teaching guys, so I'll take a guy with a shaky shot, but is strong at everything else.
We get away with lack of size because we spread the floor with shooters. Our PGs are responsible for spacing the floor more than making plays, because we already have Wade and Bron handling the ball the majority of the time. They are both better playmakers than any PG we are likely to sign in the next 20 years, and Chalmers and Cole are good enough in support. Both have better perimeter and FT shots than Kabongo.
You're basically taking our adjustment for a limitation in our rotation and building it into the primary style of play. When Chalmers had his big game in finals, what was he doing? Shooting or penetrating into the paint and offering up a scoring option that teams have to account for inside other than Lebron and Wade. This actually frees up shooters even more and it doesn't lock up Lebron to being on the court 40+ minutes a game.
Also the fact that this team is very good at helping guys develop their shot, should be a huge plus and incentive to get someone who is more polished at the other aspects of the game. Either way, if you just want someone to shoot the ball, why bother have point guards at all, just stack your roster with shooting guards. I mean, we already have 10 of them, one more shooting guard won't hurt I guess.
