Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central 3.0
Gordon Hayward, 29th in the league in RPM and RPM WINS, wants to make $1M for every player that is better than him. Why did we go after this porpoise again?

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

This is likely what happened. Could be the Heat trying to figure out what JJ is worth on the market before offering him more. Jazz can get up to $12million per year, according at Albert Nahmad.

That's good to know, I was worried that they were gonna make the offer unreasonable.

For wasting our valuable time going after that phucker Hay, now we might lose Dion and Johnson. Damm.

Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central 3.0
As much as I want JJ and Dion, and I got on board with Hayward, I can take solace in the fact that if we sign noone, we will have:
PG - Dragic / TJ
SG - J-Rich / McGruder
SF - Winslow / Ellington
PF - Adebayo / White
C - Whiteside / McRoberts
I would still be satisfied with that worst case scenario - two lotto picks on rookie contracts with high ceilings. Two borderline all star 2nd/3rd options on great contracts. 12+ mill in expirings to package in deadline deals and 4 other young guys of varying talent that can grow with the team or be packaged twith expirings if needed. All players with great synergy, most are two way players and most with great attitudes.
For me, JJ alone rounds out the bigs rotation. I know what Dion brings and would like it too, but I can see the upside of letting the other wings play in his place. Still hoping to get em all back. Kind of gave up on Reed, just didn't seem likely the numbers would work out. Happy to have him back too obviously

I'm down for a trade for LMA.
Whiteside/Aldridge/J. Johnson/Waiters/Dragic is a legit starting 5.
We may have to trade Winslow and my boy J-Rich but I'd take that and run

Now that we missed on Hayward and are trying to sign guys to 1 year deals don't we have to trade TJ at some point before his contract balloons?

Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central 3.0
every other teams locks up their guys first, we make them wait and hope they don't feel disrespected when we finally get around to offering them less value. I dont want to lose JJ and Mion but if we do is on us. Offer them good value and be prepared to lose them. Dont overextend like we did for Bosh. Just because their agents are trying for a bidding war doesn't mean the player is on board.
I want Beas back.
Melo is still out there.
Tyreke is a possibility
Roberson.
If anything we need to at least get JJ back.

If Riley loses his own FAs this will be a black eye the franchise will take years to recover from...

I agree with you, the only issue I see is that without them even in this weakened eastern conference we are looking at the realistic possibly of being in the lottery again. Remember our draft pick (top 8 protected) goes to the Suns. A three time back to back lottery team can’t sell culture and it sure can’t sell family either so...
