I’ve been on the Theis wagon for this offseason MWP. Think he’s pretty ideal for what we need, not perfect but he’ll definitely help.

Against us he looks like a young Al Horford. Against everyone else he looks like Tito Horford. :nonono:

Here goes my thinking heading into the offseason. We renounce everyone not named Duncan and Nunn who are low capped restricted free agents. We take whatever money we have in cap space and try to get a player to come down here. Most likely it's going to be Kyle Lowry or Spencer Dinwiddie with whatever cap space we have for the next few years to run the PG spot. Use the Mid Level exception on a big. Probably looking at players such as Bobby Portis, Serge Ibaka, Daniel Theis, and JaMychal Green. Resign Dewayne Dedmon for vet minimum. Hope and pray that Precious Achuiwa can be a rotation PF. That's right a PF and not have to play one damn minute at Center. Same goes for KZ Okpala. Have to hope he can give us anything from the SF spot. If Miami plays it smart with it's midlevel it may have some money left over to give Dipo to rehab and hope he comes back healthy. Max Strus deserves to come back on a minimum deal. The rest is balancing cap gymnastics. For the most part at this point your probably having to match Robinson and Nunn in order to fill out of the roster. Nunn becomes the backup PG and Robinson is back to duke it out with Herro for the starting two guard spot again. This unless Miami identifies a quality S&T that brings back a rotation player. Probably not considering how hard it is to match salaries and quickly put trading team into the hard apron. Miami will have Nunn and Robinson on healthy deals but will probably view there contracts as trade assets for a bigger player that may come free. It's not easy matching salaries for higher end players and you almost need a few bad contracts to get something done.

They will probably sign a contract day one. We will be waiting to for Kawhi to decide, ( he will take his sweet time) which eats up our time to match. Thus either we match or lose him for nothing. This is a business first and foremost, and players want to get paid. Best case we get Lowry for 50+/2 but we lose Dragic. That then forces us to match Duncan at 20+ and what ever Nunn gets. Nunn is getting at least the MLE which is 10 mil. So we are spending 55+ just on wings players, while we have a huge hole at PF/C depending on whatever we finally play Bam at. Dedmon showed he belongs in the NBA and is worth more than the vet min, He is 31 and will take the first deal that pays him, he won't wait and no one can blame him. Hopefully we have a good offseason.

Give the kid a break. He's only 21 years old. Lots of pressure on a soon to be young dad.
Give him a break lol. I'm just being realistic. He is a grown man now, with a lot of grown man responsiblies. It does not get easier.

I do not, he solves no issues. Heat already have a 6'8 big who can't shoot.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

He looks like a good fit in terms of toughness and playing within the system. Would certainly add more toughness to the front court which we desperately could use. The haters are too picky

Offer Jarrett Allen 4 yrs/$90 million. Resign Dedmon to a multi year deal. Sign Dipo to a prove it deal. Two years. Resign Duncan and Nunn.

2 year max because of age not because of lack of heart. heat needs another PG and an agile center that can actually score and rebound.

I def like Ded as a bench big. That's a perfect fit. Low $. Multi year.

Def need a PG. Rose?

Would trade Bam + Herro for Dame in a heartbeat.

No hesitation.

Starting 5 would be

Theis / Dedmon
Bam / Okpala
Butler / Struss / Okpala
Robinson / Herro
Lowry / McConnell

Please bring back Dedmon in cheap.

With Dipo on the vet min rehab deal? Yes please.

If you can land some guys for reasonable contracts you can still build around Jimmy/Bam/Herro.

First its clear we need a big man who can rebound. All season we gave up 2nd and 3rd chance points to teams outrebounding us. It was so frustrating to watch...we need SIZE! Lets kick the tires on Drummond, Mitchell Robinson, Jarrett Allen, Ibaka or even Portis.

We also need a playmaking Guard. Lowry for the right money is ideal, but investigate options like Hardaway Jr, D Rose, Devonte Graham, and my personal favorites, Fournier and Dinwiddie.

There are nice complementray pieces out there. Lets not forget this team was fire and we didnt want to trade anyone just a year ago.

We need a rebounder and a playmaker at G. They can be had. Let Duncan walk, cant be paying $20M+ for a spot up shooter. Love the guy and he needs to get paid, just not by us. Keep Nunn, he is more valuable for what we need as long as Spo plays him. Unless Dragon takes MLE or less, we have to cut ties there too.

Lots of work for Riley and co this summer. He has delivered before on more than one occasion, the last hurrah is coming. Cant effin wait!

This is taken sooooo far out of context. The question they were actually asking Riley (when he was seemingly drunk and maybe even high) was asking if the key was actually under the mat for DWade (which is an old myth).

I still see Iggy & Dragic as Trade bait or S&T fodder. The TOs on their deals have no sensible value, except for trade purposes. If we need the money for free agency then we renounce them, but that has to be done by August 1 - the day before free agency starts.

I see us as being players in the opt-in & trade market, or extend & trade market. This requires deals to be done with FAs, before they’re FAs. Meaning Bam & Jimmy need to work their connections and recruit. Not many big name PO players (Kawhi, CP), but if we look ahead to 2022 POs we get some more notables who may look towards an extend & trade: Westbrook, Beal, Wall, Walker, plus the big-3 of the Nets. We may be able to get the lead scorer and/or playmaking PG we desperately need via extend & trade … the power rotation is another story.

If a FA opts in to get traded, we get their bird rights and their extension can become bigger - especially for many of the older max level salaries.
