They didnt try to dick around and over inflate a players value, they made a deal. Now because of that working relationship it was easier for the Celtics to make this deal. We have 4.4 million in disposable contracts between Bryant and Smith attached with 2nd. Technically can only take back a grand total of 2.6 million to get into the first apron and not go back over. Maybe they can find someone making 2 million and sign someone on a prorated deal at 500k(Zeller last year).

Spurs took on Dedweight and his 4.7 million dollars for a 2027 2nd rd pick last year. Don't worry about the player names cause they mean nothing to BK. Smith will get released and Bryant is still a young backup big. Monte Morris just went for a 2nd rd pick and the pieces coming back mean nothing. Just spare parts.
