Wouldn't mind if all this Miami KD talk was just to make Ainge take less for Mitchell before Miami's package is no longer valid. There's just so many different ways this could turn out for Miami, get neither, get either or get both KD and Mitchell.

Bag ‘em both!
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

-Saturday afternoon, Brooklyn spoke to our Miami team execs

-Miami has had 4 face to face Meetings with Brooklyn since Saturday.

-Durant himself called His reps to explain he wants Miami hell or high water and phoenix is second.

-he is sold 150%.

-Utah called Miami last night to tell them they will now make Mitchell available and Herro is point on the deal.

-Donovan has not been too happy behind closed doors, they want to do right by him as this is headed for a long rebuild which is what Ainge was hired to do.

-Miami feels that Donovan might be more feasible as of right now and dealing more with Utah may lower Brooklyns asking price. Miami holds Durant as a 1A player and Donovan as 2nd tier star caliber a la Jaylon Brown. Which ever way they feel they will attain one or the other.

Organisations must've heard BK & Miami speaking numerous times since Saturday, w/ talks evidently getting serious. So Utah, who have been fronting their own poker face, puts down their facade & contacts Miami to get a deal for Mitchell, who, as most of us already suspected hasn't been happy, before we move for KD.

This corroborates Adam stating the longer this goes benefits Miami. It seems everything may be falling our way. W/ both having Miami as their #1 preferred destination, we now are in better control of the situation. Imagine having 2 of the biggest whales this offseason available to one team :o ....here we are fortunate to be in such situation :D

While fans are losing their minds/patience Riles has played his cards well. Hopefully we're now able to lower the asking price, get this deal done & start working on filling the holes to bolster our roster.

Get KD and we have a new best player or at least another Jimmy level guy (KD will be 34, Jimmy is top 10). Get Mitchell and we have a new 3rd best player and get the elite scorer we’ve been needing in the playoffs.

Obviously higher upside with KD there. Make KD priority 1, if the Nets won’t budge and demand Bam thank them for their time and move on to Mitchell.

Get it done Pat!!

The exact thing we’ve been missing is right there in front of us.

Riley said in his presser to bring him a whale and he’ll try to get it done. We’ll see if he does.

I don’t see KD just accepting that. More media use to try to shift leverage in negotiations

Sure and Miami is using the media also and it could be working. Meetings out in the open, talking getting out about Miami being aggressively going after KD and now, not right after moving Gobert, Utah's taking offers on Mitchell to gage Miami's package that they got offered before Mitchell hit the market.

I love this time of the year! So many smoke screens!

Since LeBron left Miami, Farthorst always had negative reports about the Heat.

Of course not—there need to be “other options” to foster a bidding war

The Knicks having 8 tradeable first round picks does not bode well for the Heat’s prospects of trading for Mitchell. I’ll say that much. Especially if they are willing to surrender Barrett.

Just keep that in mind when getting your hopes up here.

I like Mitchell for his game and for his attitude off the court. He seems like quality individual that would be as valuable to a franchise on the court and off it.

That said, he is definitely more in the Bradley Beal/Cj McCollum tier of player rather than the top tier. I am not sure Mitchell is worth the price Utah will be asking for.

Brunson and Mitchell would be a very small backcourt with both being around 6'1''.

I know the Knicks are the Knicks, but do we really think a team will exhaust the majority of their assets to end up Committing $234M over the next 4 years to 2 guards that are 6’1?

I have optimism that Mitchell can become a decent defender. But that just seems like a bad way to build a team—especially at the expense of significant future assets
