I live in the U.S.V.I. We just got hit by this same hurricane on Wednesday and please I'm begging you guys to take this hurricane seriously if it's heading your way. I wouldn't wish this aftermath on even my enemies. My home is perfectly fine but I drove around today and it was depressing seeing so many homes destroyed.
It's going to take months for us to recover. The beginning of the hurricane you're saying to yourself "this isn't that bad" when the middle and end of the hurricane passes I'm looking outside the window begging for my car not to flip. A Toyota Camry which has decent weight so you can imagine how powerful the winds are.
If you don't think your house is safe enough pleaseeeeeeeeee seek a shelter. Just please take the necessary precautions.
Sorry to hear about what you went through Daffy but sounds like at least you and your house dodged a bullet there.
I'm glad that you're alive and that's the most important thing... being alive then you can recover from anything no matter how long it takes. Thanks for the message and hopefully everyone in the area survives this.
Thanks man. I really did dodge a bullet and I'm grateful I'm still alive. As of right now the deaths are at a minimum (5 deaths so far). I hope you guys make it through this with minimal damage. Tim Duncan put out a post about the hurricane and his experience on the players tribune. The national guard, navy, FEMA, and a few other agencies are here. If I find a way to post some pictures of the damage I will for you guys. Just stay safe everyone. Please take this hurricane seriously and plan accordingly. Nothing worst than seeing so many people next to what used to be their homes gathering what's left of it.

Rest easy Doc. Rest easy.
