A fine accomplishment of course but hardly rememberable. Who talks about the 2nd moon landing?

Technically, Chalm was the first banner winner...

Peak JJ.

People forget, he literally took LeBron in 1v1 and won the matchup in this game.

The thing about JJ is that he has a lot of Hassan to him. When he’s engaged offensively and playing point forward he gives a ton of effort on defense. When he isn’t getting touches though he just floats around. When that happens what you’re left with is a small PF who can’t shoot or rebound and isn’t really making much of a defensive impact. Basically a non shooting version of Kelly.

Thing is though, just like Hassan, he does not put in the work needed to deserve the touches. After his one good year, he regressed. Even in the first year of the new contract when he was still a primary rotation player out of necessity, the dude was making a lot of mistakes. I can understand injury slowing a player down, but mental lapses are inexcusable.

The Mcbone is an alien symbiote much like Venom. We must hope that it seeks a new host but only time will tell. It's already been a month. It's proven to be a very fickle beast. We could only hope that it skips to Waiters or JJ some time here soon. One thing for sure is the Mcbone is here to stay. I don't think we have gone a year since McRoberts departure that the beast has not found new prey on this team. Maybe we blame McRoberts biggest stan Chalm for this? Maybe a sacrafice is in order? I'll let OP decide that fate

A disengaged JJ>>> Whiteside. Don't think we should compare him to Whiteside, I've seen him be lacksidasical on offense but never not compete like Whiteside is prone. Even if he's not engaged, still better on defense than Kelly; don't ever remember him being a liability

JJ is poor off the ball, not a particularly good rebounder, and is not a plus shooter, so that’s why he’s squeezed out right now. And I don’t see that changing unless there’s multiple injuries.

He’s not a liability but when he’s disengaged he just adds no value. Minus rebounder and not a floor spacer

Even if those things are true, doesn't dispute reasoning here; he'd be a much better match up defensively for the teams we're trying to compete with than the former

Watching this team claw into wins during chest hurt time has been so thrilling and fun. This is the fun part of building a good team, when the young players learn to win and the ones with all-star on their résumé perform in crunchtime. Gonna be another chest hurt game tonight.

Speaking of great times, who made the GTs during the 27 game win streak? That surely is the best banner in basketball history.

But, not a liability was the only point I was trying to achieve. The field of comp is too evenly matched to trust having a liability out there.

At his best, he's a really good defender and versatile offensive player. And you'll at least get a quality defender when/if he struggles

Make them corner treys. Nunn was 2 for 3 at corner treys last game. Keep it up.
