Thanks for everything Jimmy and opening up the suitors. He clearly just wants to get paid

I don’t know what we can get at this point, but we need at least 1 or 2 picks. If we don’t start building assets, we are cooked.

Agreed, my nightmare is the front office swapping Jimmy for a couple of win now type guys to keep the treadmill team going.

"If you're not on the court playing, you should keep your mouth shut," Riley said in response at his end-of-season media session.

Riley and Butler's relationship has yet to recover, sources said.

This very well could be what happens due to contract size.

I think that was a given since they'd be in the repeater tax if they were, it doesn't just go with next year but the year after too.

Remember, Miami stays out of the tax unless they have a top-level player on the roster (which should be Miami's #1 goal moving forward).

Riley & Arison ruined this iteration of the team by not adding help.

If Jimmy keeps his 52 mil, he has guaranteed money, while we are in the repeaters tax. Jimmy will take the 52 mil and make life very difficult for our front office.

I was told a few days ago that they worked the phones hard and couldn’t find a trade they liked. They were in agreement this would get figured out in the summer and had a handshake with Jimmy to be cordial between now-then. That went out the window the past 48 hours

They aren’t going to make a trade to make a trade. They won’t take on long term salary unless it’s someone they really want as part of the new core.

My gut is they send Jimmy home and let him watch the rest of the season from his couch.

Also Jimmy just played his hand wrong. I think 80% of the fan base was on his side prior to tonight. That flipped and he just burnt bridges and made himself the bad guy again. Why do that to the only fanbase that still loves you? End on good terms and make Riley & Arison look like the bad guys. Bad move Jimmy. Good luck finding that contract this summer.

The truth hurts.

We all know Butler wasn't giving it his all against New Orleans.

Butler also ran his mouth over the summer and then he got called out by Riley.

He wont make life difficult. The heat can just sit him like Memphis did old Iggy. The Heat has been preparing for this. This is why you see so many young players. The build around Butler ended with Rozier neck.

Who are the game changers we have a realistic chance at getting for Jimmy to add to our current core?

De’Aaron Fox
Zion Williamson
Brandon Ingram
Jonathan Kuminga

?

Who do you guys want for Jimmy?

Sure, and Riley running out the best players in franchise history again. Given a gift in the Butler trade, the FO did very little to capitalize with that gift, looking at what they did the last 5 years, I wouldn't expect a whole lot in the future.

Pat is too old to want a full rebuild. He’s really never liked full rebuilds. He always opts for partial rebuilds.

All can be true. This build ended with the failed Dame pursuit.

Butler has been playing games/moping ever since.

They never paid repeater even with a star or star players. Look at the big 3 era
