Pacers would not be thrilled to trade Foster.

I said management could be thrilled to get an expiring deal and good young prospects and/or picks for Foster. Please don't take my statement out of context and make it seem like i just said "they'd be thrilled to trade Foster". :wavefinger:

Is that not true? Are you guys no longer rebuilding? If Jermaine O"Neal gets dumped for a nearly-paralyzed midget and cap fodder -- just so you can get a little cap relief and a draft prospect -- doesn't that signal you are rebuilding? I think it does.

He is a fan favorite and a very hard worker. We won't just let him walk unless another team offers him an insane deal. Where did you get the idea that we don't like him from?

Again, no one said "Pacers don't like Foster." Please stop taking a snippet of a sentence out of context and blowing it into something bigger and false.

I agree with everything you're saying about Foster. I've always loved his game and feel he's perhaps the most under-appreciated player in the league.

However, you guys are in a MASSIVE rebuilding. That is undeniable. Foster will be 32 this year, and it's not like he plays in a way that preserves his body. He will be probably be retired or a 14th man by the time you contend again.

Along those lines, when the Pacer board was asked whether they'd do a Haslem-Foster swap, half of them said "In a heartbeat". I imagine if I started throwing out which picks/prospects we send your way from a 3rd team for Haslem, at least half the board would say "Yes, a rebuilding team HAS to make that trade."

That being said, you're probably right - trading Jeff Foster may be too much for the Pacers to swallow. But it's certainly not unreasonable to think a team undergoing a MASSIVE rebuilding wouldn't consider taking cap space, picks and/or young prospects for their aging center, especially with another 5 of them on their roster. I dunno, maybe it's just me.

Whatever the case, there's no need to take snippets of a sentence out of their context. If you're going to quote me and jump on me about it, at least quote the whole phrase in its context.
