salqaddoumi-- I've met HUNDREDS of NBA players, and other celebrities. IN MY PERSONAL EYES NOT COUSIN, FRIEND, SISTER, BROTHER, HUSBAND, WIFE, GRANDMA, UNCLE, GRANDPA etc.. I must say Wade has become the least friendly celebrity I have met. Lebron may not be friendly but he doesn't do the dirty work he has his bodyguard say sorry Lebron can't take pictures or autographs right now, I rather have that then get the "F-U smirk and run away" that Wade has been giving. I had an opportunity to meet Wade several times in the past few years- he started off perfect and now is on the complete opposite side of the scale. I rank Wade, Terrel Owens and Carmelo Anthony as the worst celebrities/athletes I have came in contact with. I am no longer a Wade person fan.

Gilbert Arenas is awesome because he is just a friendly person and doesn't seem stuck up like other celebrities. Hibachi!!!!

It seems like Wade is going the route of A Rod. A great player who used to be a pretty humble and friendly guy but begin to let the limelight get to him and turned into a douche.

I'm not sure what did it to Wade but we know he cheated on his wife. Whenever that occurred I bet he changed. I think the off-court issues affected him on the court more then the injury did, and he rolled with the injury excuse. The off-court made him lazy, go out more, and definitely affected his performance as well as his will, and desire. Let's see if he gets the hunger back this year because that's what made him so special

The funny thing about this whole thing is that IndoorOutDoor is acting like Lebron is the perfect gentleman and fan friendly. I've met Lebron before at events in Cleveland and a couple of times when he was out in Texas. If you think Wade is arrogant you can't possibly tell me Lebron isn't 10x worse. This is the dude that basically said he didn't give a sh*t about the crisis in Darfur publicly, crowned himself the "King" and started talking about himself in 3rd person before he ever even stepped a foot on an NBA court. And he cussed out his moms on national television. And the list goes on and on. Kobe's the same way and the worst of the three. And I can't say I blame any of them, except maybe Kobe because he takes it overboard and he alienates his teammates too.

I've met my fair share of celebrities too even though I'm not gonna pretend I'm the best of friends with any of them like some might, and they all pretty much can come off as d*ckheads. Its much easier for an older head like Zo who really doesn't even get as much crazy fan fare anymore as he used to to seem "nice" and fan friendly than a guy in his prime, because he isn't hounded like they are constantly anymore. I bet money if you met Zo about 10 years ago when he was even more popular and at the height of his career he wouldn't be tapdancing and putting on a show for your personal amusement while he's trying to live his life off the basketball court like you expect Wade to. Not to mention this dude is going through a separation with his wife. You probably wouldn't even be able to have a nice conversation with a regular guy when he's going through a breakup with his girlfriend and you expect this guy who's always in the spotlight and always being hounded to be Mr. congeniality whenever you see him? Now I see why celebs can be d*ckheads, the whole world is expecting them to not be human.

If he makes us contenders for years to come, I am more than happy :)
I agree. As long as Wade puts the ball in the basket, am happy.
I think people expect to much from this athletes, the get paid to be basketball players, this guys have a life too. Wade can't take every autograph. Anyways, I always thought Wade looked arrogant, event as a rookie, but it never bother me. If this supposedly new "jerk" Wade gets better on the court, am happy.

MJ was the biggest jerk of all-times, arguably worse then Kobe, but it didn't change him being the ebst player in the game.

Excuse me for not believing reports about somebody from your cousin's friend. But feel free to tell me about their charity work and how they've bought churches for people.

Ah now I get it, you had your feelings hurt by Wade not acknowledging you a few times and are looking to knock his character on a message board.

..meh.

We're here to discuss basketball, if you want to completely judge a guy off a sample size of a few experiences of seeing him out in situations which he could've been busy in is pretty sad. Some people think celebrities are there to cater to them and they owe them 24/7 of their time. I wouldn't stop and shake hands with EVERY single person who recognized me if I was as famous as Wade either. Just chill out and stop taking rejection so hard, you're over analyzing things. Enjoy the how the guy wins us games, that's all that matters. :P

JCC campers learn from Heat's Wade
By IAN SQUIRES

July 16, 2008

Almost 100 youngsters from around South Florida took part in "D-Wade's All-Star Basketball Camp" at the Levis JCC in West Boca Raton earlier this month.

For three evenings, kids ages 7 to 14 got to learn from and play with a dozen camp coaches, including Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade.

As a kid, Wade said, he and his brothers attended a daylong basketball camp with New York Knicks all-star Patrick Ewing.

"I remember the experience like it was yesterday. Getting the opportunity to be around an NBA player and the couple NBA players that came into the camp, it was a great, great experience I'll never forget and I'm just trying to give kids not only that opportunity but even more," Wade said.

Wade's older brother, Demetris, helped out running the first two D-Wade basketball camps this summer in their hometown of Chicago. He was in South Florida for camps at the Levis JCC and one at Florida International University.

"The effect you see that he has on kids when we do these camps is just unbelievable, and we love it," Demetris Wade said. "He changes their life, it's some stuff they're going to remember for the rest of their life, and they're going to take with them just like we took from Patrick Ewing's all-star camp, it was something you remember forever."

Randy Colman, assistant director of the JCC, said a variety of kids came out to see Wade, and they got their money's worth.

"It's open to the community, we've got kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs here, we've got some underprivileged kids who are here on scholarship, and it's really what we're about in terms of being about the community," he said. "A lot of celebrity camps, the pro will show up for an hour and then they'll leave. Dwyane was here all day yesterday, he was here for three hours interacting with the kids."

Andy Russo is a former college basketball coach, most recently at Lynn University, who currently is the sports and recreation director at the JCC. He administers summer basketball camps himself, and ran the D-Wade camp in Boca Raton. Russo echoed Colman's words about the many star pro athletes who will lend their name to a camp and little more.

"Indeed, Wade takes his fame seriously. He freely acknowledges the many children, and it really doesn't matter if they want to be a role model, that's not a decision he gets to make.

"I'm a role model to anybody who's real about life, and knowing that decisions are going to be made that aren't always perfect. Some are going to be made and it might be questionable but that's life and we all do that," Wade said. "If they're looking for a flash, a cartoon character to be perfect, that's not me. I'm a person, I'm a human being, I go through life and I make mistakes, but also I make a lot of good decisions as well."

As i have posted before, Wade when i first met him was one of the nicest players ever. The guy even told security to let me threw so he could sign acouple more autographs, but recently it has been the complete opposite. Wade has been one of the most stuck up players i have come in contact with and trust me i have met many. The last time i saw wade, he was just being a complete "D" Bag, i even wished him good healthy and good luck in the future and he just seemed to role his eyes. Sorry but Wade seems to be getting the Lebron ego, to good for people.I hope he regains the fire he once had. Just wanted to drop my 2 cents/

I don't know man, I could care less about his 'fire' to please random fans he doesn't even know. All I care about is that he still has that basketball fire which he obviously does as he is trying his best to get back to 100% health for this team. Kind of hard to call someone a d-bag off of one expeience. (maybe it was more but you only mentioned one)

salqaddoumi-- yes exactly I am here to destroy Wade's reuptation on RealGM. I wasn't the one who brought it up simply said he's an ass. End of story. He isn't dealing with the fame the right way-- some people know how to handle and even though they are complete **** they still take the time to stop for a quick photo or a handshake or whatever it might be. I hope anyone who has an opportunity to get close to Dwyane gets to see the one I saw in his first 3 years, the one who even when being harassed accommodated every fan like every celebrity should.. It's as simple as this there are some celebs who are thankful and realize they wouldn't be anything without us and then there are the ones like Wade is now (in my book) who don't give a sh-t because he's already king of the world, but if he keeps us with his play from last year and keeps treating fan's like sh-t he won't be anything more then a Penny Hardaway.

Eh, I believe the stories about DWade being a complete douchebag now. It's just a shame because he used to seem so humble and sweet. Fame is a bitch.

I really laughed out loud when I read that part. But at the end of the day you can't change anybody's opinion no matter how unfounded it seems to be. I've met Wade myself twice once in the club and once when he signed an autograph and he seemed cool enough to me just like a regular dude. But if he's met him however many times he's claiming to have met him and he's been an ass every time then he has the right to believe dude is an ass.

I do think its ironic that right before this convo popped up everybody strongly rejected the rumors about who Wade is messing with (something not negative) but they ate up the rumors about him being a piece of sh*t type of dude.

Every negative thing that I have heard about his attitude has been from his own fans. Why would his own fans lie on him and try to make him look bad? It's a difference between believing dating rumors from the tabloids and believing accounts from his own fans that he's acted like a jerk.

You definitely can't expect celebs to be with a smile on their face and eager to sign autographs every time you see them, but if you're at a charity event that YOU ASKED to be a part of, why not participate to the fullest?

Disappointed in Wade's decision making.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?
