People dont let your infatuation with a big blind you from seeing that Haywood and Darko are not good.
You could argue all Darko is a Joel with mid level offense and Haywood is just as inept as Joel is on Offense and his defense is nothing special, I'd go with Pittman over both

Darko was pretty solid a couple years ago. Too lazy to check numbers right now. Was he really that bad last year or did Pek just steal his shine?

Man, thinking how awful Battier and Haslem were in the reg season, if Ray-Lewis can play well they make us so much better.

What do you guys think about Josh Harrellson? He just got waived by the Rockets. I think he is a pretty good defensive Center. Maybe worth a shot?

Nope. I'd rather continue with Pitt. Harrellson isn't worth anything.

Pittman can't play defense nor offense. At least Harrellson can do one of the two.

But what ever, apparently he didn't get cut, and will only get cut if the Rockets trade for Dwight. Misread the Knicks board.

Isnt he more of a shooter?

Decent rebounder though. I would give him a shot. Then again, we are looking at Mickell Gladness once again, so thats not a huge compliment. Any big able to run up and down the floor I'm good giving a shot to.

Pittman's potential beats Harrellson's non role

Saying Pittman doesn't have offense potential means you aren't watching him. His footwork alone is better than Harrellson will ever get.

In the last month he scored dbl digits 3 of the 6 times he had more than 10mins

Harrellson needs 20+ mins to score dbl digits

Harrellson doesn't have potential to add anything to the team. No need to romanticize another team's garbage.

The team is clearly moving away from offensive liabilities

WTF??? You can't be serious. Just like I really hope you weren't serious about Harrison Barnes being the ROY   . You do realize Darko is a legit 7 footer, and does have the ability to score 20 points a night. I'm not sure if you would call that mid level offense since if Joel gets a 10 point game a season it is an anomaly or we are playing the Raptors. Also Darko has the capability to put up big rebounding numbers, and be more solid defensively than Joel due to his height. Darko is probably just as good of a shot blocker as Joel if not better. Overall, the biggest thing with Milicic is his lack of motivation. I don't really care for Haywood, he's just too slow in my opinion for anything the Heat are trying to accomplish. He looked spent on the Mavs last season.

Thanks, for the brilliant insight. First off, Drako is bad, but we aren't taking about Harry Potter here. To begin with Pekovic is a beast! I would argue that Nikola was the second beast center in the western conference last season, and was playing like the best center in the conference for a period of time. This title was ultimately usurped from him once Bynum started to get his **** together. But speaking on Milicic, his play was extremely inconsistent last season which caused him to fall out of Adelman's rotation. Darko had some pretty solid games like the one against the lakers, but overall he did play terrible. But there is a difference between your insight and reality. The main reason behind his terribly play was the fact that he stopped caring after a while. This does sound inexcusable, but the guy has the talent. There is a reason he was drafted so highly. I firmly believe that if he went to Miami, he would have a higher chance of flourishing under the tutelage of our organization. And by flourishing, I'm not saying he would drop 20 a night. But I feel like he could consistently give us 6-8 points and rebounds in 25 minutes while playing solid defense and offense. He was mishandled by Larry Brown, and has mostly played on losing teams or hasn't been given the proper opportunity to play. At worst Milicic is on Turiafs level last season. Darko and Oden 2012!!

I think if it's between Haywood and Darko, I pick Haywood quite easily.

Guy's a more solid rebounder/defender. Darko's not a great defender, and wouldn't be as much help playing against bigger guys like Bynum/Howard.

Isn't the whole point of getting a center for matchups against big centers?

I mean, we're gonna be running LeBron/Bosh or Haslem/Bosh majority of the time... IMO Haywood would give us a legit post defender option next to Bosh when needed. Attaining Darko would do nothing as a LeBron/Bosh or Haslem/Bosh tandem would be more effective.

Haywood's basically Dampier at this point

I wouldn't like either but Darko's better imo

Not a HUGE fan of getting him because of his size, but it would be a good pickup

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine:

Heat & Spurs, just to name two contenders, would LOVE to court Scola if he clears waivers. Instinct tells me, despite cost, LS gets claimed

Scola is still a good player and if we somehow got him for the vet min., it would be unbelievable. Can't believe a guy of his caliber would go unclaimed though.

On the topic of Haywood vs. Darko, Darko seems like the obvious choice to me. Haywood has been declining rapidly the past few seasons and probably is Erick Dampier 2.0 right now. Darko is younger, has range and is just as good at defending. Only question is his motivation.

Get Darko. Then the Heat will have 4 of the top 5 picks in the 2003 draft. He brings championship experience as well.

Scola here would be amazing and would probably permanently move Bosh to center. I used to watch a lot of Rockets (other than the Heat) games back in the T-Mac and Yao days. Scola is a tough, hustle guy with a lot of heart and has a lot of skill. He would be Bosh-lite for us. He does flop A LOT though. Would be cool to get two former Rockets on this team (Battier and Scola) 8-)
