Nah, it's one more chance to get a lottery pick in a loaded draft, the protections won't matter anyway as they are unlikely to be in the lottery in either year.

Jimmy is still much better than Tyler. So the situation isn't the same as with Steph. Tyler would have still had to defer to Jimmy. Idk, I feel like the talk about him having issue with the new offense was overstated and almost a cover for Jimmy. I feel like it was entirely money/contract on his part. But of course, that doesn't come off well in the media as pretending the organization somehow put you on the backburner.

Jimmy has never had a problem taking it easy during the regular season, so he can turn up during the playoffs. I think he would have been fine with Tyler emerging more on offense. He just wasn't willing to commit to the team (the same way we weren't to him).
