CP3 is good to miss around 15-20 games a year. Presti better hope that if he decides to start the year with Paul on the roster that he doesn't get hurt before the trade deadline.

Truth.

OKC will eventually cave and give us CP3 no chance they go into the season and risk him getting hurt. Imagine he blows out his Achilles.... Those Heat picks don’t have a ton of value tbh we are talking about non lottery selections almost certainly.

2 picks and Paul for a dump of our bad contracts

Why is Herro going to be thrown in just because he was a lottery pick?

Bam was a lottery pick and he had to earn his spot.

Herro has less competition at his spot. But if he can't outplay Waiters or Dragic, I don't think anything will be handed to him.

True! He will get his chances. It also depends on how hard Herro goin to work at practice and at the gym. He have to put on some muscle on his short arms.

Second unit's poised to be bad defensively, will be interesting to see if Herro's offense is keen enough for his minutes to be unaffected by this

McGrubes, Babbitt both survived spouts of negative production, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Hope Okpala gives himself a fighting chance for mins in preseason tho

He thought he had a GRAND deal in place that would have generated 2 picks, young player(possibly Winslow) and expiring Dragic lol

I think Herro has to be protected defensively at all times with Winslow at PG and Butler or DJJ at the three spot. I don't want to see Dragic and Herro backcourt.

I dont get this, if Herro will be a disaster then why not trade him with Dragic and we have Westbrook right now in his remaining Prime and have his contract expire with Butler.

In reality, you probably want to see Herro in when Justise is at Point, and Jimmy at the 3. Allows him to take the lesser offensive player on the perimeter defensively, whoever that is. Plus gives us the floor spacing we need.

That doesn't mean he should start, I just mean when the rotation comes around and he enters the ball game (assuming end 1Q, start 2Q), I'd like to see him alongside those two as his skillset is complimentary to them.

Barring a trade, our rotation looks pretty set:

PG: Winslow / Dragic / Nunn
SG: Waiters / Herro
SF: Butler / Jones Jr / Robinson
PF: Olynyk / Johnson / Maten
C: Adebayo / Leonard / Haslem

You'd have to think we'll primarily run a 10 man rotation for most of the regular season based on that. Other guys get opportunities when we have injuries or guys need a rest. If Nunn proves worthy, he might end up making Goran more expendable. As it is, Goran would be a very handy 6th man - arguably one of the best in the league.

I get the concerns around our reserve backcourt defensively though. That's real. I think it's important Spo staggers to keep one of Winslow or Butler in that lineup to defend the oppositions best player. DJJ probaby wants that responsibility though, as he's mentioned many times he wants to be an elite defender. We'll see.

I think if defense in the second unit ever becomes an issue, that Leonard goes first. Don't see the second unit doing well on the perimeter or protecting the rim, and if he doesn't rebound well he'll stick out like a sour thumb

Winslow/Yimmy most likely playing 32+ mins tho

Good, I want that 34-35 per from the Wingod, Bish.

Yimmy around the 34-35 mark too tbh.

You forgot about KZ Okpala....also I doubt Maten makes the team.

Because Riley has a much longer leash for UK rookies than any other rookies.

White Drip's floor is prime Mike Miller; hardly a disaster.

White Drip will likely be much better than prime Mike Miller simply because of the small ball, perimeter scoring era that he'll be playing in.

Herro should be average defensively for a SG. Anyways, how many 2-way SGs are there in the NBA? Good luck naming more than 5.
