Birdman is apparently open to returning even without Lebron. Oden may be too.

We gonna use our money for Deng most likely

It is back to square one if we get Deng and trying to pinch numbers

This time around no one is gonna take a paycut but Wade and UD

Sheiit as long as we play Bosh at the PF. We have to. We have to make ol dude happy. He saved us all from depression.

Gasol, Okafor if he is still alive???, Monroe (RFA), Epic Upidoh, Pinokio.

Not much left I'm afraid :(

Love if Oden was pulling the biggest troll of all time and comes back and becomes the best centre in the NBA

Oh yeah, totally forgot about him. We should def. sign him if he is willing to give it another shot.

He didn't have a huge set back last year, I don't mind.

I hope Riley is really putting it to the team and selling the idea that your leader has turned on you and now is the time to come together and show him what your made of. Really try and bond the squad together

If we can get anything out of Oden, it would really help us, especially if we were to revert to a more traditional defensive scheme.

He doesn't need to be that. At this point, I do think it is worth gambling on him a bit and give him a respectable 2-3 yr guarantee. He's still our best shot at having a meaningful true, traditional center.

Or is that because he wants to compete, not play with Swaggy P?

It's definitely because he wants to compete, but if he's willing to turn down more money to compete, is he really going to choose us? We're not going to be a championship-quality team unless he takes way less, Deng comes with the rest, AND Wade turns back the clock.

I don't really agree. I think a core of Wade, Bosh and Pau can at least compete for a title if surrounded by some quality role players. No, not the kind of favorites we have gotten used to being the last 4 years, but in the mix.

The problem isn't the core, it's the filler. I think Wade/Bosh/Pau can be your Top 3 and at least get you to the Finals with some good breaks, but not when you're starting Norris Cole at the 1 and Danny Granger's corpse or James Ennis at the 3.

But it's not really a matter of whether we *can* compete. It's whether Gasol is going to choose us, out of all of his options, when winning means more to him than money. We're not a terrible bet, but if he wants to win, I'd imagine OKC/SA make more sense.

Deng is a good fit but will quickly decline once he hits around 31-32. Tying him up for 4 years when 2016 looks good is pretty bad imo. Go after the young guys first or make a go at Gasol again.

No one knows what we are offering Deng. Most probably a 2 year deal .. so nothing lost for 2016 other than having a winning/team atmosphere in a prime location. Win-Win.

Yep. Seems are goal is to put together a decent but not contending team. A couple of weeks ago most here were saying that no way does bosh deserve the max. No we got him at the max for 5 years and probably gonna sign deng long term too. sigh

Pau seems either Bulls or Spurs bound.

Imagine him in SA. :o

That's nice of Birdman. I think he really came to like the Heat culture and such. Plus he will fit too well in Cleveland ambiance he should stay away from it!
