But we’re still a **** team. What does that tell you. If he’s not able to win with a superstar like Butler and a 20+ PPG scorer in Herro what good is he?

As long as we give up nothing of value, or better yet get rid of Duncan, I hope it is.

It really illustrates and even somewhat overrates his strengths to play a gimmicky defense where bigs chase guards around the perimeter. That’s one of his most spoken about strengths, the ability to guard 1-5. But if we move away from that, which is what we all claim we want, what do we have?

Bam with the traditional 5 everyone wants around him is a completely clogged lane. That’s not a big deal if Bam is a natural scorer, but he’s not. Imagine Bam and Zo???? You’d need a Wade type to get penetration and we don’t have that.

Bam at the 5 and a stretch 4 and we’re still a small team. Are two 6’8-6’9 players the size ppl are really clamoring for in the front court?

This is why I’ve been screaming for Myles Turner for what 2 years now, because he’s the best of both worlds to cover Bams weaknesses and plug our gaping roster holes at the same time. I just dont know where all the trolling came from on this board where there can be no balance in our takes.

We molded our whole team around Bam. The front office thought we could keep up the Duncan Robinson/Bam dribble handoff charade for the entirety of his contract when he’s now on the verge of being out of the rotation making close to 20 million a season. Why hasn’t the team got a center by now? Like you said Turner would be good but the front office just seems so set on Bam being the starting center since we let go of Olynk and Meyers. He’s part of the issue of why we have a fundamentally flawed lineup to begin with

I think everyone is in agreement that we want a Myles turner type next to Bam. We don’t want a traditional big

If he doesn’t sit out tonight we’re 1 game back from the 3rd seed, basically the whole damn nba has sucked. Everyone is struggling lol.

But that’s more on roster construction than anything else.

Herro is not a wining player, part of why we’ve had a nice stretch here recently.

Top 8 offense when Bam is on the court, 2nd best defense when Bam is on the court. Worst in the league at BOTH when he’s off the court, you saw that **** first hand tonight. He’s an elite player AND impact player. He’s not out there putting up empty stats.

You need to understand the game outside of PPG, which he still gives us quite a bit of, and see how good of a player he is. He’s the 3rd best center in the league. He’s very clearly taken another step after a slow start and has been dominant lately. We’re battling injuries right now and we’re battling horrible roster construction and unfortunately coaching.

Meant best defender. You’re just greedy as fuxk. Best defender in the world giving you 20-10-4 and you want more

You literally want this dude to be Giannis

He’s getting paid like Giannis why not Bammy? How much does he pay you to Stan him online?

I’m not surprised you don’t understand contracts and think him and Giannis make the same amount of money  goodness why am I even wasting my time

Yea sorry I’m not going to sit here and bash our franchise player and Jimmy (other than the occasional lack of giving a damn) when they’re clearly not the issue

Yeah well you need to understand the game inside playoff PPG and playoff contributions. Until I see that from Bam all this talk from you about Bam in the regular season is cheap. It makes it even worse when we can’t even win games with him putting up these stats

He’s getting paid the max. Why can’t he even do a fraction of what Giannis can do?

I disagree. Bam is a foundation player you build a championship team around. He might not suffice as prototypical superstar but he does a lot of things that are special that not many big man can do.

If that day comes you keep Jovic and you keep Bam. Bam is the player to build around and Jovic is worth keeping because he is still on a rookie deal and we don't know what we have yet.

I just hope that when it become clear we aren’t making noise this season, we pivot and let Jovic and Cain get some burn and find a clear role. Both add something that we don’t have in the current rotation, and both will only get better and more comfortable at the NBA level with reps.

Why isn’t he better than one of the best players we’ve ever seen? Damn idk?

Giannis makes way more money than Bam btw.

When you’re getting bodied because you dont know anything outside of PPG so you jump straight into trolling. Sit down lil guy, anyone with a brain understands Bams importance and every team in the league would max him. Doesn’t matter if Celsius likes him or not

The answer is that Bam is not a max guy on a championship team. I’d like to see him prove me wrong for the rest of the season and playoffs but I highly doubt it. We’re in year 6 of the Adebayo saga with nothing to show for besides a faux bubble run runner up trophy

So only the max players on the team who won the championship are true max players? Makes sense….

I'm looking around on twitter/youtube but don't see Butler answering any questions post game. It would be nice to know why the best player on the floor decided to not give much effort tonight, especially after talking about this team is going to win a championship. Butler did the bare minimum for a guy that actually played in the game. So, the Portland game is on his lack of effort (doing nothing with Dame guarding him in the 4th) and this Toronto game with whatever effort you want to say he did or didn't give tonight. It was a pretty pathetic performace by Butler.

Return to Miami Heat
