Just going on the 15 in this list

These have to be top 5. They are no 1 options on their team and all NBA talent
1. Zion (Despite injuries he has the highest ceiling of anyone here by far)
2. Ant (Future MVP candidate)
3. Haliburton (Same as Ant, future MVP candidate)
4. Brunson
5. Mikal Bridges (if he does what he did last season, deserves this spot, if not then he drops)

Next tier, not quite all nba but allstar level players
6. Murray (he'd be lower if Nuggets did not win a title)
7. Bam
8. JJJ
9. Jrue

Really good players/borderline allstar
10. Garland
11. Markanen
12. Porzingis
13. Dejounte
14. McCollum
15. Franz

I think my wife wants to follow Dame to Miami. She has taken up Spanish lessons all of a sudden and keeps referring to me in bed as “Croquetica.”

I think that means “stud,” but I can’t be sure.

Yeah, I'm sure guys like Scoot and Sharpe are watching POR spit on Dame that just spent 11 years there and thinking "I want to stay here long term!".

They want to get paid. If you notices what is getting Dame destroyed everywhere on social media is that he demanded just one team, Had he done the here are the list of places etc people would more likely to sympathize with him. His reputation is getting destroyed.

It should be noted that if he does follow in Ben Simmons path, his shoe deal might be in jeopardy. Dame built his image and reputation as one who doesnt run like a coward to a contending team. A lot of humble pie is being eaten right now, just from a numbers standpoint, his behavior is detrimental to his brand and will negatively impact shoe sales. Let's see how this ends up. This is entertaining to say the least.

Any vet minimum right now puts us over. Waiting for this Lillard trade to get resolved. No signings till then with money needing to be freed up or extra player coming in trade making a little less.

supertax isn't an issue until end of season and should not restrict our team building. As I said before, we can waive Lowry any day before March 31 and be under supertax by stretching the remainder of his salary (a few 100k per season going forward)

Portland’s relevance in the NBA is due to drafting Sam Bowie over MJ.
Their other sliver of relevance was for blowing a lead against Kobe and Shaq and losing their spot in the NBA Finals.
What big name player homegrown stayed there?
Not Rasheed, not Brian Grant, not Jermaine O’Neal, not Drexler…
Portland should just take their seat as a tier 3 franchise in the NBA and get older players past their prime like they did with Pippen, Schrempf, Smitty, etc.

You're welcome LeBron.

Tyler Herro is a TURD.
Bam is NOT elite but is getting better.
Fire Spoelstra!
Josh Heupel is coming for you.

As of the implementation of the 2nd Apron the Heat have operated like they don't want to risk going into the season over it. Look at how they precisely parking themselves at 1.9 with the recent signings

Let's talk Thomas Bryant.

https://www.silverscreenandroll.com/2022/9/13/23333034/thomas-bryant-anthony-davis-lakers-3-point-shooting-rim-protection-stretch-5-center-free-agency

My initial impression: He's a long and somewhat skilled offensive finisher known for poor defense and a low bball IQ. He was available for the minimum and wasn't in Denver's playoff rotation for a reason.

BUT, I believe the real reason the Heat targeted Bryant was untapped upside.

Potential Strengths

- Scoring
- Spot up 3-point shooting (see article link above)
- Mid range shooting
- Rim finisher
- Capable as a rim protector (see article link above)
- Capable rebounder

Areas of Concern
- Passing (he's a black hole)
- Team defense
- Perimeter defense
- BBIQ
- Health
- Athleticism

Fit with Miami

His clear fit with Miami is as a backup center allowing for another source of offensive finishing from the bench. In theory, this can even open up 5-out looks when he's in the game--as he seems to be a capable spot-up shooter. I'm concerned if the Heat try to have him replicate too much of what Bam does in our system as he doesn't seem to be a capable as a switching defender (or team defender) and he definitely lacks the chops to facilitate an offense. He's another big body, but can he defend in the Miami system? I expect him to get the best coaching and development of his career this offseason, but I think role will also be very important. Which leads to the things I'm most curious about.

Wild card elements

Can he play with Bam? At this point it seems like a stretch, but if Miami has a vision to limit his defensive role with an aim to keep him off the ball (on a corner shooter serving as help defense at the rim), then maybe he can serve the role filled by the likes of Robert Williams with Boston and Brook Lopez with Milwaukee. He has the wingspan and he doesn't seem as slow-footed as guys like Yurt and Meyers Leonard.

Will he do the dirty work? We need him to be a smart and effective screener, box out, and play the team game. Will he buy into that?

What do you all think? If anyone has more insight on his game, background, upside, role I'd love to hear it.

You're delusional man. I don't know if you're just a doomer or what, but his rep nor his shoe deal are in jeopardy at all lol. You forget how fickle media is.

I guarantee you anything you want that his shoe sales go up once he gets to Miami lmao. Put bread on that. **** it, I'll buy you a pair if they don't.

Someone else in the GB said if the Heat get Dame the NBA should have a lockout until they figure this issue of stars moving out

Return to Miami Heat
