Well, sheit…your move, Jimmy.
I absolutely hate that this Heat era, which has been a relatively positive one, is coming to end like this.

He's going to end up getting his money (from my understanding, these appeals can take up to a year) and Miami likely knows it. They're just making a point. This is about money? We'll hit you there. You can sit down and wait.
Riley isn't going to be walked all over. He's played his last game in Miami, IMO.

They could really use Butler now.
Would Houston do
Dillon Brooks
Steven Adams
Jeff Green
Tari Eason
Cam Whitmore
2 x FRPs and 1 x swap
For
Jimmy Butler
Josh Richardson
HOUSTON
Free Van Vleet / Reed Sheppard
Jalen Green / Josh Richardson
Jimmy Butler / Amen Thompson
Jabari Smith Jr / JaSean Tate
Alperen Sengun / Jock Landale
HEAT
Tyler Herro / Terry Rozier / Isaiah Stevens
Duncan Robinson / Alec Burks / Pelle Larsson
Dillon Brooks / Jaime Jaquez / Cam Whitmore
Tari Eason / Nikola Jovic / Keshad Johnson / Jeff Green
Bam Adebayo / Kel’el Ware / Steven Adams
I think Eason is one of their building blocks. He plays the type of ball theyre looking to play.
Thats why I always mention Jabari. Hes the low hanging fruit.
If we could augment that trade and move Rozier and Duncan to free up more PT for our kids, then even better. Mite be next year for those guys unless we can finagle them into a 3 way trade.

I think they do unless Jimmy fights it and wins but have to imagine the Heat got everything in order. Saves Mickey like 8 million in tax

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 3
Lol Pat don’t give a sh*t. You wanna make a stink to the media? Here take this suspension. This is Miami Heat over anything else.
It’s not the Heat’s image that’s tarnished here. We cleaned Jimmy’s image. Butler just undone some of that & made himself look bad again. The difference now is he’s no longer young & is injury plagued. You can’t play the same dumb games in this circumstance.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

If there is no market for him and it looks that way, he will stay on the roster. And since Money talks, assuming he is not traded, I fully expect him to opt in to his 50+ and make sure we get hit with the repeater tax penalty. If there is one thing the Heat hate is to pay the tax, thats where this will hurt Mickey.

Re: 2024-25 Regular Season Thread Vol. 3
Spare me the bs.
I love what Butler has brought to the organization and he will forever be a top 5-10 Heat player of all time, and his jersey will be on the rafters one day.
With that said, let’s not pretend like Butler’s diva past does not exist, that every team he has ever been in, he has left on bad terms, and I mean really bad terms.
The Heat did absolutely nothing wrong by not extending him. Butler has been missing significant amount of games every regular season, missed games in the playoffs last season. There are more than a handful of games where he completely half asses his effort.
Now it seems like he is not only half assing it on the games, he is doing the same during gym, practice. His attitude he had in the past with various coaches Thibs, brent brown, etc.. is likely showing again.
We are suppose to extend a guy when he still has 52 million remaining next season, his new max had we offered 110 million/2 year wont begin when he is 36 and end when he is 38.
He barely has his legs under him, i see no lift, i see poor defensive effort.. he is a guy with a lot of mileage, always played heavy minutes in chicago, played very heavy minutes in philadelphia and minnesota. Hes cooked as a top tier player in the league.
Its time to move on. Thank you for everything youve done Butler, but the Heat dont owe you a damn thing.
I have screamed at this forum countless times, about terrible contracts that we give out, just the worst contracts, extensions that we give out to past their prime players or role players.. caleb Martin’s agent saved our asses from a 65 million contract, he ends up signing for half of that in philadelphia and is barey the player he was here.. gabe vincent saved our asses by not re-signing with us, lakers fans vomit each time he checks in:.
We still have duncan robinsons horrendous contract here. Look at what we paid lowry for **** sake.
Its about time we got this one right.

I keep coming back to them too. Makes sense too as Memphis has always been a willing trade partner with Miami. They have good transactional history.
