I'd facilitate the hell out of that for an asset.

If We start the season strong i could see Pat keeping him. If this team is underperforming by FEB, then he might lighten up the cap by trading him off, or try to trade for that player he realy likes. Even though he doesnt have any picks to add.

Hope ur right about this. Miami still has it's 1st top 7 protected in a good draft. So there's always hope with that.

But when that contract was initially reported, that was an eye opener for me but figured the increase in the salary cap would nullify it's impact but now seeing the number regress makes it a potential albatross in my book. Especially if you consider the reason behind the decrease of the cap, the low number of playoff games. Spurs really need to improve along with Celts in order to give GSW and Cleve a run for their money to get those numbers going in the right direction.....

I didnt mind it at the time because we didnt have a legit starter at SG, & i thought maybe he could become that. Untill Dion showed what he can do. Now i see him as trade bait unless he becomes invaluable to the teams playoff push.

I also see him as a back up C, not a PF, at least not just yet. He is simply the replacement for Reed who will get over $8mill from someone in my opinion.

Spacing. If he was simply a replacement for reed we wouldn't have drafted him.

For now he is, untill he shows more. Then as he get better he could play some PF as well. It all depends on him

In order for that contract to be trade bait, TJ needs to keep improving cuz 19m is almost 20% of the cap. Way too steep for a bench/role player.... Really wish Riles had won out and convinced Mickey not to match him.....

Gordon Hayward on Champsports Instagram video said "I played for the Utah Jazz last year" HE GONE. I doubt he goes back. Looking like Celtics or Heat.

Too late now. If TJ was traded i would assume that some other young guys like Winslow, or JR would be included, as well as BOBs expiring contract.
But right now its all about trying to make the playoffs. Thats what Pat wants.

If we resign Waiters we really don't need Gay imo.

It would be hard to see Pat hand a conference rival an easy route to a championship. + Pat has never liked Ainge, so i dont see us helping them in any way.

Sure we do. We need another option at 3 stretch 4. We can't keep going undersized at the SF spot and we need a vet for Winslow. Even someone like a PJ Tucker would work.

Why? How else would we get the player Pat wants unless we give them some of our young guys. We dont even have picks, so it has to be them.

Who's contract would be higher out of Rudy Gay and Dion? If its the same I'd rather have a 2 year deal with Rudy.

If you could sign Waiters and Blake Griffin. That would be an interesting team. Waiters willing to take 12 mil? Need to cut/trade McRoberts.

I'll take Waiters over Gay. Waiters is 25 or 26 years old and has more potential.

Wasn't necessarily talking about running small at the 3. I would rather sign another vet though, not too high on Rudy Gay. He's just a straight up scorer at this point and i feel we already have that in Waiters. He wouldn't bring anything else to the table.

Did we trade Whiteside and Dragic because we can barely afford Waiter and JJ. I don't see how Gay is possible unless we trade either Whiteside or Dragic

Return to Miami Heat
