I think it's sad that a player's putting in work to improve, sets a high ceiling for what he expects to become and fans are out here waiting to jump down his throat if he doesn't live up to that expectation.

Herro said he thinks he should be in the conversation, doesn't mean that he is. Tyler clearly has a lot to do to prove that he's there with those names but I don't discourage him for believing in himself to get there.

Personally would love to see Tyler make a jump in his progression and go to another level but at the same time I'd still be fine with Tyler even at the current level he's at with just marginal improvements because even at that level he adds something positive to this team and contributes to us winning.

Nobody is “waiting to jump down his throat”. Even the most irrational of Heat fans in here know that a better Herro is a better team.

Why do a lot of people say Herro had a terrible year last season? His stats for the entire season are not much worse overall compared to his entire first season. For example, his eFG% only dropped from .520 to .516. Plus, he didn’t have much of an off-season to improve so what were people expecting?

I been noticing a lot of opposing team players trying to show up Herro this preseason. I even saw Booknight try to iso him and clearly threw a hard stop crossover tryin to embarass Herro and break his ankles. It appears to me pple are really going after him this season. He must be rubbing a lot of opposing players the wrong way. Maybe they are jealous? Herro hasn’t done anything to earn his fame, and yet these role players see him in Songs, a documentary, Instagram girls left n right. I sense a lot of envy. Will be an interesting year for Tyler. I’m ready to see if he has what it takes

It all comes down to expectations. After the bubble, it was "expected" that Tyler was going to have a big year last season. Reality is, he didn't get an offseason to build his body, his game, and it showed last season. Teams keyed in on him, he lost his starting spot and missed quite a few games with injuries.

Personally I think he had mild 2nd year blues but really it was like he had one big, long rookie year. 3rd year leap will happen, but there's probably a limit to it when you're a 6th man.

I'm surprised how excited people are for this old, small, boring, do-nothing treadmill team. Had people at work asking to watch the preseason game over NFL and playoff baseball. Guess the Kyrie stuff must be giving people the delusion we can make noise this upcoming season. We're not even as good as the Bucks, let alone a full strength BK.

No matter what--make sure you do not allow people to have enthusiasm or hope for their sports franchise. Keep up the good fight

Could have fooled me. Feels like a bunch of so called Heat fans out there hoping that he amounts to nothing just so they can say they were always right or something. Some just don't have an optimistic bone in their body and will just slander anything the Heat or any of their players do for god knows why.

nah. not many, probably 1%. Herro rocks and I hope he can score some 50 point games this season or next. He is that calibre of scorer. He and Butler can be lethal together and take a load off Lowry.

Shove it up your ass. This is a place of discussion, not a safe space fantasyland for fools who can't take criticism of the team.

Jesus  criticism is one thing, but who are the titans in the eastern conference that are so dominant we have to get down on our team? We know what Brooklyn is, and you named Milwaukee, thats it. We dont have to be “as good” as those teams on paper, just go into the playoffs healthy and nobody knows what might happen. As we saw last year it only takes 1 injury to change a series.

Brooklyn Might not even have Kyrie this season and God knows if they"ll even stay healthy. I definitely do not wish any harm on any player but just being honest on the track history of their personnel. The Bucks lost one of their defenders and is now on the Heat and is going to be one of the bodies that are going to be thrown at Giannis. And we have gotten better defensively and Lowry really is going to make the offense more potent this season. The heat does have a good chance against anybody in the East.

Let's pray for no big injuries all year cuz we have a better than average team and you all goes according to plan ...we might make a lot of noise in the playoffs

I just hope Lowry can win the Holiday matchup. Holiday would definitely make it tough for Lowry to be as effective. The benefit we have is if Bam and Herro are more aggressive and Butler doesn't have to deal with Tucker and Holiday guarding him most of the time they can pick up the slack.

I feel like a Bucks/Miami series guaranteed to go 6-7 games with the way the teams matchup.

Many posters fall in love with guys who can't hit layups and make them untouchable in trades, but wanted badly to ship out a 21 year old kid with all star potential. Welcome to the Heat Forum!
