Now whether he is the piece that you keep or not to start another build I think you could debate. Though I think he is the torch carrier for the Heat Culture and it is worth more than some are willing to admit to the Miami Heat staff.
Short of drafting Flagg or landing a Durant level star, both highly unlikely scenarios, the correct roster construction strategy, imo, would be to trade Bam in the offseason for a maximum return of draft assets and perhaps young players.
Regarding the age and situation comp to Jimmy, it doesn’t register imo off the simple basis that Bam isn’t on that level. He doesn’t have it upstairs the way Jimmy did and still does.
