From what I understand Nick has actually assumed most of the executive decision making responsibilities. He's still a fairly young guy as far as executives go, they'll probably keep it in the family for a while.

Hopefully we also buy a SRP and grab another player we like without having to hope they go un-drafted. A Pelle type of pick, and put them on a two-way. It is time to lean in on real youth development!

I’ve been really high on WCJ having watched him hoop a ton. He reminds me of Dame, he’s way more athletic than people think, and plays with a really strong base on his drives and his off the dribble shooting. I can also see some Brunson to his game the way he controls pace.

I didn’t really trust my eval because I thought it was kinda wild that he was not a locked in lotto pick. This is a guy who played Football in HS was a 4 star WR. He had no offers coming out of HS as a BBall guy and was extremely raw he has not hit his ceiling yet. The kid went from not being a D1 basketball prospect to being the tournament MVP, and a 1st team all American.

If the Heat feel good about him enough to make promises that makes me feel a lot more confident in my opinion on him.

A lot of people will be happy we didn’t move the pick in time if things play out this way.

Really makes you wonder how much Nick is part of the problem. Nepo baby may be as much an issue as anyone.

I see it now. He brings a lot of the skills we need (creator and off the dribble shooter) and is not far-fetched to think he can add the things we want (better defense and passing+lobs for Bam/Ware PNRs, with kickouts to our perimeter players in Herro/Jovic, and cutters in JJJ/Larsson, Keshad). Think he is a great fit for the squad with potential to benefit from our coaching staff.

Well one thing we as a franchise needs to do is stop with the is he a klutch client nonsense.. Klutch represents 10% of the NBA with an estimated 600 million in salaries going into the 2025 season.

We have to accept that Rich Paul is here to stay and if WCJ is a guy we want, then so be it Rich Paul will be at our front office with his client signing contracts across of Andy and Riley

Nepo babies can be great and successful. Who you know can take you a long way. That doesn't mean they are beyond criticism or scrutiny.

This is the mindset we needed going into the KD trade.

Giannis will come available and we’ll have 6 guys we deem untouchable in those talks

You are the one who brought up Nick being a nepo baby being an issue.....I couldn't care less who someone's dad is.

Spoelstra only got his foot in the door in the NBA because his dad was the GM of the Trailblazers back in the day. Doesn't mean Spo isn't an all-time great coach.

Heat3 wrote:Fans here were mad Heat didn’t overpay for Beal before the Dame thing even happened. That isn’t even mentioned anymore. I wonder why…Fans here still crying about Dame even though he didn’t do anything on a better team in year 1 and is already broken in year 2. Our window will already be closed with him.

Anyone want a broken Dame right now? Portland wanted Jimmy or Bam. Didn’t even pickup the phone for anything else. Imagine our team now. No Bam. Broken Dame. Jimmy causing trouble

Now people mad about KD. An old ass player who only won when he joined the best team of all time almost a decade ago. Failed with Booker and Beal. Failed with Kyrie and Harden. Failed with Harden and Wesrbrook. But it was going to be better here at age 37???

You all need to understand the Heat are not in a position to win it all right now and can’t afford to give up youth and future assets for fools gold. Everyone complains about dumb trades they’ve made in the past and still push for dumb trades now as if it will be different.

So your argument is Miami should only acquire players who haven't failed elsewhere?

Not going to be a plus defender in my opinion but he plays with good effort on that end of the floor and like everywhere else in his game his balance and spatial awareness show up.

What you can do is treat him like Curry offensively and sprint him around the floor off screens because he can hit those type of shots. This isn’t a guy who takes wide open 3s in college this is a guy who was checked the length the court, and is doubled and trapped all game in college.

Traore is a dog too

If you guys haven’t seen there is also a Jovic clone who is 6’11 out of Serbia who can handle the rock projected late 1st to 2nd round

Bogoljub Markovic

I wouldn’t be extremely shocked to see Miami try to acquire a 2nd if he’s there
