Pulling for the Heat, and not to eulogize them before they're finished, but thinking more and more the Heat experiment is going down in flames. Last year they made it to the Finals after beating a banged-up Celtics team and an inexperienced Bulls team, and promptly got exposed by the Mavs. They had a shot, but were too cocky yet nervous to focus and finish the job.

They were erratic in the regular season again this year, and haven't displayed the championship polish of the Celtics, the Thunder or the Spurs in the playoffs. What's wrong?
- They rely way too much on two players (Bosh was only averaging 15 and 8 before he was injured) to get it done - if one of them has an off game, they lose, simple as that. Pierce was off before his big shot in the last minute, Rondo was 3-15, and Ray Allen was largely a non-factor, but the Celtics still won, because they're a mentally strong, tough, TEAM that believes in itself.
- The supporting cast is mis-matched and uneven. Miller and Battier are duplicative, Haslem is undersized at C, and their PGs are prob the worst 2-man rotation in the league. James especially looks worn down by the 4th because he can't get a breather because of the supporting cast.
- Their playing rotation (and starting line-up) changes game to game, never a good sign. Turiaf and Anthony played tons of minutes in previous games, and didn't touch the floor last night. Pressure is on Spo, and of course the team, to pull this out, or we're going to see how stubborn Riley is (not looking for an experienced replacement coach, not breaking up the big 3).
- On TV, the Heat home crowd looks pretty brutal, especially compared to OKC and the Gahden. When Bosh re-entered they gave a mediocre cheer, and they started leaving when the game was undecided. Fake atmosphere.
- Could go on, but the biggest thing is James and Wade don't play off each other well enough. On offense, if you're going to have a dominant two and besides Bosh surround them with a lottery team, don't make them both erratic outside-shooting swingmen who drive to the hoop and need the ball. They look cool alley-ooping and fast breaking, but in the playoffs that's what, 8 points a game? A lot easier to dunk all over the Bobcats than to do it in crunch time in the playoffs.

But, they still have the chance to change the course...

The Heat crowd did seem pretty pathetic noise wise. I don't know if it's the mics or the arena but we didn't have the advantage that the Celtics fans give their team or the Thunder or practically everyone else.

We should have intimidated the Celtics, lifted the Heat and forced the refs into making errors in our favour.

Spoelstra's excuse for not putting Bosh in later in the game was ridiculous. Cliff Levingston's response to him would have been: "Basketball players play basketball. So, if you want to win, put your best basketball players on the f'ing floor." We'll never know if he would've been the difference or not. At the very least, his length could have helped.

After the Pacers won game 2 and then blew the Heat out in game 3, people were pronouncing the Heat dead. Then, the Heat basically rattled off 3 wins pretty easily, 2 of which were on the road. They could easily grab these last 2 games.

So where are all the people who said that those that called for Wade to be traded was ludicrous? I like him just as much as you guys but its obvious he has given up on developing a jumper. When him and Lebron are on the floor, the weak side and the ball side are too close together. Look at Boston. You have Rondo/Garnett ball screen on one side with Peitrus/Peirce ALL the way on the other side of the court. There is space in the middle because you cant leave either of them and that results in these easy azz plays for Garnett at the rim.

Not as much as Spo's fault as neither the SF/SG are three point threats. Less space for Boston to rotate and easier to collapse the lane. If I was Mickey Arison, I would fire Pat Riley, Spo, All of the assistant coaches and trade Wade. Too much stupid buddy buddy and superstar butt kissing. Dumb assistant coaches who would NEVER be on any other contender staff and only have jobs because of stupid Heat "loyalty".

No wonder Shaq said, he cant believe they won the title in 06'

Probably, but doesn't that make Wade another Mike Miller? At some point you have to expect a player to perform to his contract/abilities. If you cant do that because you're always injured, then WTF are they paying you for?

I hope that's not the attitude the Heat have. Nothing will be "easy" about it. They could very well be out of the playoffs right now. They need to bring their A game, play smart and with an edge, and unfortunately will need special games from all of the big 3, plus serviceable efforts from the rest of the team. Nothing easy about that.

Not realistic. Wouldn't be surprised if Spo stays, and maybe, if the right offer comes along, they trade Bosh - ex. Lowry/Scola/draft pick. They need to amnesty Miller (too injury prone), and sign a serviceable big. Play Lebron at the 4 most of the time, Haslem the rest. A better squad that way, in my opinion.

Can't blow up this team because Dwade and LBJ aren't going anywhere yet, and no one else wants the Heat's scraps.

Lol Wade is the REASON why this team cant win. Of course Riley wont Trade him, that's why everyone needs to go. if Lebron doesn't like it, then Trade him for Dwight. It really comes down to one thing, Is the front office trying to win a championship or just trying to acquiesce to their superstars by having a coach who won't get in their face, stupid assistant coaches who aren't great basketball minds but instead player cheer leaders.

Doc Rivers has Flip Saunders scouting...Flip knows more basketball than the entire staff combined.

Not saying that the Heat think it'll be easy. But a lot of hopeful Heat haters out there are quick to pronounce them dead despite the series not being over yet. If Boston can win in Miami then Miami can certainly win in Boston.

laughing stock of the nba, this is why i feel as heat fans we get extra pissed... we can't accept that we lost 3 in a row to an aging celtics. we have no reason to accept that they're better coached. we got pumped up riled up... even riley himself was cautiously making claims of a F***ING DYNASTY. To in return, turn out to be an underachieving team that has focus and effort issues on top of clutch narratives and a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) wind up doll coach that says a total of 5 phrases?

Guys this is not what this was supposed to be. Whether is starts with our extremely average coach, Wade's or Lebron's attitudes/"clutch problems", our crappy home crowd (personally i believe they all feed off of each other) we have a reason to be so disenchanted with this team.

They signed up to be the best team in the NBA to win championships, knowing all the criticism would come... and we still have to talk about effort, drive and killer instinct. Right now all negativity is coming to the surface, let's hope we get some light on Thursday.
