Then you terribly fail at GM'ing.
Lopez isn't great, but he's solid for the miniMLE. We could do much worse.

Sometimes we act kinda "arrogant' when it comes to role players, like they should be lucky to play for us versus "we want you"....we're tops when it comes to pursuing HARD the top FA's
IMO
We actively pursued the ish out of Allen last summer... all our guys were texting him a bunch too. I think it may seem a little more layed back or "arrogant" as you say because we make it a point to not leak much info, if any. Nobody knew what our moves were going to be 2 summers ago when quietly Battier was the guy we were going after the whole time. And apparently last year we called Camby at 12:01 at the start of free agency... if that's not blatant interest especially for a washed up Heat hater, I don't know what is lol

Evolving list for Oden given complexities of his comeback, but one source close to situation contends Spurs and Heat slightly ahead of Cavs

Hearing strongly that Miami still needs to be in same zip code w/Spurs & Cavs in Greg Oden's free-agent thinking. Heat right there, I'm told

should an Elton Brand, for example, decide that a title shot at the minimum, with no guarantee of playing time, is acceptable (the Rashard Lewis Plan, if you will), then I think the Heat would embrace such overtures.
When a veteran free agent or two recognize their perceived value does not match the market, that's when Pat Riley and his staff might pop into action.
Is Elton Brand still the rebounder he used to be? I know he used to be a great shot blocker, but with his height and his age, not sure if he's still. I know he can hit the midrange shot, but from what I saw last season, was inconsistent.

There won't be a fifth year on the Splitter deal. The terms will be four years, $36 million-plus, sources tell Y! Sports.
krikor wrote:splitter who is utter crap going to get 5 year deal worth 45 million dollar. it goes to show the market for big men is very costly.
even rubbish big, would cost high..
i think joel anthony is not on a bad contract..altho he is useless.i think we can use him as trade asset

RexBoyWonder wrote:THe more money Splliter gets from the Spurs, the less money left for them to offer Oden.
So go Splliter go!
Plus with Timmy and Splitter they won't have many minutes for Oden. good for us.

It was both. But he made it known he was going to sit out a few years so he can rehabilitate
