I love Pat Riley, I think he is one of the Greatest Coaches, GMs, & NBA Presidents ever if not the best. But his age like anyone's age plays a factor into anything. Riley said himself if Lebron James would have stayed he would have retired after winning 1 more championship. I also think Riley's system is one of the greatest imo and he has built the best system for the Miami Heat that he could walk away and our team will run like a well oiled machine. He has one of the best owners in the business, one of the best coaches in the NBA and coaching staff, he has Andy "F in" Elisburg, the best farm system, I love that he brings his former players up through his system from player side to management side or even coaching side, and the thing I love the most a really good training program to help elongate the careers of players and help with player development. So do I want him to retire, hell the f'n no. Do I believe he is going to retire sooner than later, yes unfortunately. But I would never push him out the door unless he went all Phil Jackson on us.

Something to do with "unlikely bonus" incentives....Andy worked his magic...

I know they had to renounce Babbitt's cap hold.

Teams that trade their stars(Phoenix; Chicago, Sac) typically want cheap high upside young players/picks in exchange of their stars. Outside of Winslow and maybe Waiters, where is Miami's picks/cheap high upside young players to trade for a star?

How many do you think it takes?

Josh Richardson, BTW, definitely counts, as does Bam Adebayo.

Honestly, none of the players named can used as centerpieces in trades, to net a star. Winslow, maybe 2 years ago, but his value has gone down.

and it can go back up......

Tell me about the value used in the Paul George Trade

How about Butler?

/edit i went back to find your post and +1 it (could not find it) i did not want this post to sound adversarial...we all get your point

When Pat retires i will be so depressed, it will be the end of the best era this franchise has ever had. Only Don Shula has has the impact Pat has had so far in south florida. i dont trust Shane, or not that many other cause honestly ive been spoild buy Riley's cunning. & unlike most i love defense, & power ball, not this small testicles stile of play. 8-)

If you love him so much, then let him do what he does, & before complaining, 1st see what comes out of it, before condemning the guy.

Last year i was just as disapointed as you are this year, & i was leading the tank parade. But when i started seeing what this team could do when it was healthy, i changed my mind like most others.

Honestly i dont know how we will do, but when i do start to complaint, it will be after im sure that this was a mistake, & not just jump to any conclusions.

All im sayinging is give this team till JAN before you give up on it. :)

Hey f off with the bandwagoner...I have been a Heat Fan since day 1 of the franchise. There wasn't a Miami Heat team when I was born and raised in SOUTH FLORIDA and I still have probably been to more Heat, Dolphins, and Panthers games then most of the posters on this board.

Which means you were supposedly around during the glory years of the greatest run in college football history and turned into a nole fan. Makes sense.
