Saraf
Clayton Jr
Philon
Fland

These 4 PG’s should be available from 18-20 that we need to be giving a long hard look at. Don’t think Traore slides that far. Figure the Hawks would scoop him up. I need to get some work done on Fland, i can’t resist not paying attention to a Calipari guard recruit who was supposed to be at Kentucky.

39% at the rim has me effectively unable to look further into Fland’s game tbh. Seems like a good passing PG prospect (maybe some Isaiah Stevens parallel?) but I just can’t get past that.

He did have a shortened season, so maybe there’s more to uncover ?

Zero interest in Fland.

Its a mandatory skill for our guards to finish at the rim.

Saraf pound the table pick if he’s there when we pick from 18-20 and no surprise fall from a Jace Richardson or Traore.

Just watching some clips of his and I get the 4 level scorer stuff. Hes always pushing in transition. Hes got game at all levels and he handles contact well.

Hes also got some very crafty defense footage. In the article posted, the author extols the D prowess he showcased against players in his age range. Even mentions it as elite at times.

biggest factor to me with any PG prospect is self creation.

The league is filled with decent ball handling PGS that can bring the ball up. What separate the all-star level PGS is the ability to create a good shot for themselves and or their teammates.

This is also our biggest need as a team - someone that can create efficient offense out of nothing, not needing a screen or play ran for him.

So if the prospect discussed doesn't bring any type of skill/physical advantage to allow him to create against decent defenders -I have zero interest.

We need to aim high with this pick - no more role players. Looks like there might be still a few high ceiling options on the board at #18, hopefully.

There's a few high ceiling prospects in that 12-18 range, guys that if they pan out might be game changers down the line. One of the more intriguing ones is Noa Essengue :

a huge 6'9 super lengthy do-it-all wing, he's like a Bam/Jovic hybrid.

He's 18YO, put this kid in our system and I can see him become an absolute 2 way beast in a couple of years.

If assuming that each of the top 13 players on the current Tankathon big board (https://www.tankathon.com/big_board) are gone by the time Miami picks at 20***, the following are some categories of prospects from the potentially available pool:

PG game:
Labaron Philon
Sergio De Larrea
Ben Saraf
Nolan Traore
Walter Clayton Jr
Egor Demin
Tahaad Pettiford

Overall Upside Play:
Noa Essengue (Forward)
Noah Penda (Wing)
Nolan Traore (Guard)
De Larrea/Saraf/Philon (Guard)
Will Riley (Wing)
Carter Bryant (Wing)
Hugo Gonzalez (Wing)

Offensive Engine Upside Play:
Labaron Philon
Sergio de Larrea
Ben Saraf
Nolan Traore
Will Riley

Best defensive prospects available:
Noah Penda
Carter Bryant
Noa Essengue
Miles Byrd
Rasheer Fleming
Labaron Philon

Our two glaring holes are the starting PG and Backup C spots. I would like a PG with the GSW pick, but if no decent one is available, give me a Backup C that can allow Bam and Ware to play more consistently together instead of being mostly staggered past the first sub.

You don't waste a mid first rounder on a backup C.

Backup centers are a dime a dozen, you can decent ones for the minimum or close to it every year. Half the time you don't even polay the backup C, you just go small.

We need to aim for an offensive creator, biggest need by a mile.
