I feel dirty over it, and not sure I'd even want to attempt an argument for it, but I'd be happy to see Mike given another shot down here.

Wade loves him, always calls him "his rookie". In this team, it's ship up or ship out. It's not the same mentality as those middle-of-the-pack Heat teams and Western Conference bottom-feeders he's been on. I think it's a redemption story/ low-risk high-reward signing if Riles can stomach him.
The views and opinions expressed herein are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Miami Heat fans, the Miami Heat Organization, or it's employees.

I'd give him a camp invite and see how the team feels about him in the locker room and what not. I never really liked him but I know he has potential and on a squad like this I think he could help off the bench, give Battier some rest.

Last month almost everyone said no to Beasley on here. I see things have changed for the better

Give him a training camp invite. That's about as open as I will be.

REDEMPTION time for Mike.

Bring Beasley home.

(and add Odom for the playoffs if he can sort out his personal problems).

Sadly, the best thing for Beasley is removing the opportunity for him to play in the NBA for a season or two.

I wouldn't mind a camp invite for Beasley but only because we drafted him. Other than that, we don't owe him sh*t.

Besides Hibbert, Love or Ibaka I think we lucked out since we were able to just basically rent Beasley. Had we had anyone else I think Miami wouldve had a harder decision on keeping that player or going after the Big 3. Ya those players on the list are good and all, but having LeBron/Bosh/Wade is quite ok with me.

Beasley wasn't traded to make room for any of the Big 3. He was traded to make room for either Miller or Haslem. We would've kept the player next to the Big 3 had he been productive.

Thats right he wasnt moved for the big 3, but I'm pretty sure they all signed up knowing that they'd move Beasley to make room for Miller. It was Wade taking less than LeBron/Bosh to open the extra room for Haslem. I think the only people on that list that wouldve been better are Hibbert/Love/Ibaka. But again Hibbert would clog the paint which slows LeBron/Wade down, but hes still a solid player and after his contract was up they wouldnt of been able to sign him.

I think the Heat really lucked out with Beasley being a scrub.

Westbrook and Lopez would've been kept over Miller as well. A few other guys there would've at least netted us more than Beasley's 2nd-rounder (or was it two 2nds?). Kinda silly to say we benefited from him having crud value.

I'm a huge proponent of pace and space, but it's hard for me to believe that we wouldn't be willing to work in an All-Star caliber C because he doesn't allow for ideal spacing. The defensive impact alone would be huge.

I saw bleacherreport that Hassan whiteside is getting looked at by the heat along with others. I have wanted him to get a look for the past few years. I am excited about this report. Of course he is raw but hopefully he'll get a serious look.

I've been attached to Whiteside since leading up to that 2010 draft. Really wanted him on the Heat, and hoped he'd get at least a camp invite after we worked him out last year. Alex Kennedy can be hit or miss, and I doubted his report of our interest. As I expected, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported the Heat have expressed no interest in Hassan, as according to Whiteside's agent.

Any thoughts on Xavier Henry? Seems to have good size perhaps can guard the 1-3 positions. Doesn't seem to be that good of a 3 pt threat but other players in this organization have become better 3 pt shooters in the past.

I do remember hearing the Heat had some interest in him during that 2010 draft. 6-7 with a 6-11 wingspan, but average athleticism, so he's not going to be any sort o f strong finisher. His strength was always billed to be his potential as a shooter, so until he figures that out, he won't have an NBA niche. I wouldn't mind giving him a camp invite to see if he can get it together a bit. At the same time, I loved how Derrick Byars (once a pre-draft-time hopeful around these parts) shot/played for us a couple of preseasons ago, so I don't know how well Henry would have to show out to get a spot. We are vulnerable at the wing at the time being, however. I've been advocating bringing in Cartier Martin in the Mike Miller "break seal when needed" role. Xavier, Cartier, whatevier. Bring 'em in.
