Outside of some game saving shot making vs BKN, he has been slumping bad since coming back from the ankle.

Those of you that have been watching games, has Jovic made his case to continue starting or is it still precarious? Has he been effective?

The gap between playing this guy 30 minutes a game and playing Lowry will be like adding a bonafide Allstar mid season.

Herro is the middle of bad stretch BUT -
It's not all on him. He's being over-used, due to lack of a legit guard playing with him.
Since Lowry is giving you NOTHING offensively, Herro is forced to try and make something happen - and sadly he's just not a high level creator. He need to be more of a play finisher, and less of a initiator.
That can only happen if we play him next to a guard that can really create an advantage and take usage off of Herro.
Lowry and Rich ain't it.

Iv'e seen enough to declare the kid is our future starting PF.
You can clearly tell he's just a winning player, even as raw as he is. Much like JJJ, he's just a natural baller and helps his team win.
He's still very young and needs to become more consistent with his shot and defense, but the fit looks great.
All resources should then by be directed into adding a legit guard to upgrade our misrerble guard rotation.

Agree with this. Limit Herro to more pin down/curls, catch and shoot and more off ball stuff. We’re way too reliant to give it to him late in the clock and hope he can create something. Even when he is getting to the paint, he’s not finishing well so far this year. Not sure if that’s residue from the ankle injury and him being wary of it, or he’s just off.
A legit PG that can create looks for him would do wonders.

If the Heats goal is to win a championship this or next season than 2 FRP is nothing to give up for a Rozier/Brogdan/that level player. If it fails they still have a decent core (once Jimmy retires/moved) of Bam/Herro/JJJ/Jovic to be competitive assuming JJJ/Jovic keep improving.

No way I would trade the dude....to me...at worst...he at least stabilizes the offense. Dude has flashed some real talent on both sides of the ball.
I am ready to go all in on the Bam/JJJ/Jovic era.

To me Jovic is starter for rest of season. He has shown lots of development since he started to play more. Probably should of had him play a lot more earlier in season instead of never playing and having to go down to g league to get minutes. You can tell he tries very hard and scoring will come. I don't think they look for him as much as other players like hero bam Jimmy and even Duncan Robinson so he doesnt score a lot every game but he has great shot and can makes right decisions on court. The only thing I don't like is that they play Jovic for 1st and third quarters but isn't on court at end of each half.

Brogdon and Rozier are not the same caliber player, especially given Brogdon’s injury history. Absolutely no way you give up 2 firsts.

When health Brogdan is way better/versatile/bigger but his injury history puts him on the same level as Terry (also been injured). Outside shooting/IQ/defense/passing/pick and roll are all in Brogdans favors, Terry has him in the 1 on 1 creativity and ball handling. Brogdan due to his contract expiring I guess you would give up 1 pick for (Terry I think is locked in longer).

Agreed. No way to Brogdon

It says the Mavs want Pj Washington (strange considering they have a similar player in Grant Williams) can the Heat pull of a trade in a 3 way to get Rozier and Kleber (elite defender) who can play both PF/C but is injury prone. Kleber and Bam give you 48mins of elite defense and Maxi can chip in with 3's as well and fits well with anyone at PF or C.

Re: Miami Heat 2023/2024 Regular Season - Thread 3.0
My biggest Issue with this team is this core has been together for the last 5 years and still don't know how to play with each other effectively. Its like it only translates in the playoffs when one of the top three go down. During the season, Jimmy can't get Bam easy shots, Herro and Jimmy don't mesh at all. The rest of the team stand around and watch Jimmy, ball movement seems to be terrible. So Just so I am not blind to the problem I drilled down on advanced stats and they showed me exactly what my eyes were telling me.
Jimmy is hyper efficient and great at creating free throws, which skews our offensive ratings to make it look like were much better with him on that side of the ball when he is part of the team or group. When Jimmy isn't in the team our ball distribution changes and we have a higher assist per minute ratio. Our team has a better half court offense in regards to distribution and opportunities its just their not good offensive players so they cannot ISO or go get 10 free throws so it makes the offensive efficiency look worse. This is a case stats skew Jimmy to make it seem like he improves our offense, when in reality he does but to detriment in ball movement and spacing, Even though he is a willing passer, it correlates to 1 and done for a score, not necessarily for ball movement purposes, the ball seems to stick.

Any good graces Herro had with me starting the season strong is starting to wane quickly. I hope he corrects this as he gets better coming off the injury but at some point your just a mediocre high volume scorer with aesthetically pleasing shooting form.

Part of the reason Sexton is high on my wish list is because he fits the 2 timelines.
He's 24, so young enough to play next Jovic/JJJ/Bam long term but he's expirenced enough to help maximize Jimmy's window as well.
He's an aggressive efficient scorer that plays hard. That's good enough. His below average passing isn't a big deal next to our great passers.

Got to admit I'm disappointed Herro's decision making is still iffy.
He's improving on defense which is huge, but if he can't get to the line he HAS TO become a smarter player and pick his spots better.
Playing next to Lowry and Rich isn't helping the situation. He's being put in a tough spot as the only creating guard, he need a far more dynamic PG next to him.

.
That is straight up legit....
years later....we have 3 talent people that are better individuals then combined.
When it is jimmy iso time, or Herro iso time... it negates everyone else on the floor it seems. We get a ton of standing around.
This team always seems to look better on offense the more the ball moves. I think Jovic and JJJ are a step in the right direction.
Side note, anyone else think Jimmy has looked under the weather or sick/tired the last couple of days. Dude has bags under his eyes and looks lethargic in interviews....wonder if he is dealing with something...
