With Lopez leaving, the fight between LA, Denver, and Milwaukee for Ayton must be wild.

Thats not possible at it stands right now. They only have room for one.
And with access to the MLE, I cant imagine they leave all that cap sitting on the table to sign a vet min guy with the last spot. Probably working through a trade and probably have some FA's on hold.

last available spot on the roster ≠ no playing time

The current construction of the Heat there is no free agent will get guaranteed mins. The Heat are not going to add a player to bench none of the draft picks. Any free agent looks at the roster and sees that.fincane30 wrote:twix2500 wrote:Its the last spot on the roster. Thats not how it works. They have 14.1 million in the first year to spend on a guy. If they decide to spend it that guy is a solid rotation piece. Kevin Love is the last guy on the roster.

Good pickup for the Hawks; only team in the east so far that’s really making moves

Jerome got 3 for 28
Mitch got 2 for 24
Andy Ellsburg has always overpaid plyers weve been screaming about this for a while now…. The only guy he didnt budge to overpay is Dwyane Wade
he actually low balled him instead

If they decide to pay someone 50 something million over 4 seasons or so, that guy would get guaranteed minutes. Any FA is looking at the money offered. That will dictate minutes played. So yes if the heat are only looking to offer a minimum deal to someone it'll likely be Burks. Frankly no one actually knows what they want to do other than they want to trade Wiggins and Rozier.

Mins played is part of the negotiation. There is no free agent out there that's will get that garaunteedfincane30 wrote:twix2500 wrote:The current construction of the Heat there is no free agent will get guaranteed mins. Money is the only negotiation. They're not signing anyone to that MLE who won't play big minutes. For example if they brought back Duncan(god forbid) he would get minutes. IF they got Gary Trent Jr. he would play big minutes.

If we could land Collins for rozier and a SRP swap... i mean Id think that deal would have been done by now. Doesnt get any cheaper of an asking price than that. Ainge wants his tank commander.
Oh man, thats another name people tried to say was better than Bam back in the day. (Hawks fans mostly). He must have really fallen off if he could be gotten that cheap.
If Miami gets Collins then it is likely Adebayo or Ware is traded.
Don't see a reason to trade for 25m Collins to come of the bench
Come on Collins didnt even start for the Jazz half the time. He doesnt do anything Bam can except shoot 3s.

Barring some surprising masterstroke chess move ie Lebron for peanuts, or a Giannis Hail Mary, etc, Mia is missing the playoffs this season.
And it should be obvious that they have virtually no shot at making the postseason
Why is blowing it up not a viable option then?

They finished 8 games below .500 and made the playoffs. The East is not better than it was. They will believe making the playoffs is attainable. Give up the dream.

Definitely looking like the perfect offseason to do it.
