How is that relevant? we know that's a fantasy trade.
You're asking if we should trade a young developing star that hasn't entered his prime yet for a superstar that is exiting his. I guess that depends on the context - what are the following moves? you better win big in the next 2 years if you're making that trade.
If we add Curry and lose Bam and Herro - are we winning the East? we'll have no front court at all.
It's relevant to my curiosity, just testing for sanity
You wouldn't trade Bam for Curry or Harden because we would lack a front court player? Or/and lose borderline/possible All-stars?
Does that sound sane? I don't know if it does but I'm biased cause I really like those players and I put a lot of value on Superstar talent.
I don't think our possibility of winning a championship with Bam/Herro are anywhere near the same or would be anywhere near as high than with Harden or Curry-- but maybe you're not judging this trade on the ability to win one championship?
What I'm saying is that context matters.
If We lose Bam and Herro and add Curry, what kind of a chance would you give us to win the East? 5%? 10%?
Is that chance high enough for us to give up 10 years of future Bam for 2 years of Curry?
If you're selling your future, you better make sure your present is golden.
Curry
Duncan
Jimmy
Ariza
Precious
I don't think this team is good enough for us to mortgage our future for. If you think we can make following moves to strengthen the team and truly contend, then it could be more appealing.
You can't look at a huge "Win now" move and not examine the overall context - are you really giving yourself a high chance to win.
To me the move to make is not to trade Bam or Jimmy but to trade everyone else and add a true 3'rd star, even if that star isn't on Curry's level.
That line-up would be ten times better than our current one and give us a much better chance to win
I wholeheartedly would take that team over
Nunn
Beal
Jimmy
Ariza
Bam
9 times out of ten.
You're not getting a third star that would give you as good of a chance to win than with a superstar like Curry/Harden. You have two more years of Jimmy-- at the very best, you'd only be keeping Bam/Herro at the detriment of that and some gamble that they'd be superstars. I don't get it
