You think the Wiz are going to blow it up that fast. They just started building around pool.

Wiz should be in the business of asset hoarding right now. There PG of the future will be coming from the draft. Tyus Jones is 27 and is more of a fringe starter excellent bench PG in this league. Not someone the Wiz should be looking at building around.

I still prefer the Nets trade over majority I’ve seen. Dinwiddie and DFS/Royce maybe Dennis Smith Jr for a backup PG b

They invested a lot in Pool. To not start building around him, instead asset hoarding doesn't make sense. Don't get me wrong I do believe Wiz just like the Magic are a stupid franchise. But it appears they are buyers not sellers. Meaning they are looking to trade for a star side kick to Pool not drafting and developing players.

On Jovic, when has Spo never been willing to play young talent we’ve drafted? Maybe the dude just isn’t what some think he is.

Winslow, JRich, Herro, Bam, JJJ, etc. All in the rotation from the start basically, now we’re in Jovic 2nd season where he apparently improved a lot over the summer and he can barely sniff minutes with half the roster out.

He doesn't like young players who can't play defense. Jovic is not NBA defense ready. But he's not going to get better sitting on the bench and its killing his confidence. He was great in the FIBA world cup and in the few minutes we've seen him his offense looks to have taken step back.
Spo needs to play him and accept that for this season Jovic is gonna be a negative defensive player. We knew what we were getting when we traded for a skinny high school foreign player who has great offensive potential but defense is major issue. So I don't understand why we are not playing him. If Spo can't tolerate his mistakes then trade him. I don't think this approach of benching will work, I think its going to hurt his career in the long run.

Herro didn’t play defense and that didn’t stop Spo from playing him. At least Jovic has size going for him there so he can at least effect shots and grab rebounds. Or at least you would think but apparently not; if Spo isn’t playing him then he just isn’t good enough.

They got him and other assets including a protected 1st for C.Paul, it was a great trade for Washington and now have a tank commander who could possibly build up his value to let Washington trade him to get more assets. Some bad team may be willing to take a swing with him for a possible big contract they no longer want and an asset.

NBA insider Marc Stein, who's also an NBC Sports Bay Area Warriors contributor, believes the Washington Wizards don't view Poole, whom they acquired from the Warriors in July for 19-year NBA veteran Chris Paul, as a franchise player but rather a significant piece to a potential move. While examining if the Wizards could just want Poole to increase his trade value or if they see him as a "cornerstone player," Stein weighed in.

"My sense, from speaking to various league observers," Stein said (h/t Inside the Wizards), "is that more believe it is the former rather than the latter."

he appears to have a problem with what was said....or reported....

ill have to re-read what was said.....but I dont recall having a problem with what he said.

They are all adults....frank discourse is healthy.

From what I recall, he said he would be looking better if he was asked to do the things he is great at, instead he is doing things he is not great at.

I get that from his side of the situation, and I get it from the organizations side of the situation.

To me it Duncan all over again. They put Duncan on the ball and it was trial by fire. Duncan gave it 100%...he sucked....but he gave it 100%. Jovic just needs to go out and embrace it and do the best he can do.

Which leads me to wonder how someone like Joker would've been developed here. I have a lot more faith we could have developed Giannis for example.

Trade Niko and Martin for Caruso.

Butler’s timeline is the agenda.

Waiting years to develop a player whose natural skillset is like a square peg to the this system’s round hole is futile.
