Pat would compromise all his core values to trade a ton for an all offense, near zero reliable defense center that doesn't like his coaches to cuss or yell(something Spoelstra does a lot of)?

This isn't 2k. That said, if Towns had the right mindset(which he probably won't ever have) he could be a top 5 player easily.

You’re kidding yourself if you truly believe Riley wouldn’t be interested in a talent like KAT if he willingly came out and stated that he wanted to be traded to Miami.

With that comes Butler forcing himself out for being lied to about what this organization is about. It would basically tell everyone that this "culture" thing was just a gimic.

Lied to about what exactly? Towns would actually be held accountable here. He wasn’t in Minnesota.

I guess the culture wasn’t a gimmick when we maxed out Hassan Whiteside and gave large contracts to Dion Waiters and James Johnson? Let’s not act like Towns would be the biggest head-case Miami would have ever signed lmao.

These are professional athletes. Jimmy Butler would not give a flying fk about his past with KAT if he was brought to Miami. This isn’t highschool..

What we trade or don’t trade to acquire him is moot. My point is Pat would certainly be interested at the thought of KAT in a Miami uniform. His fit would be seamless next to Bam.

Butler cares about winning, not petty drama from the past.

Not surprised we extended the QO for Vincent. His GLeague numbers were terrific, even if he sucked pretty bad in the minutes he did get with us in the big leagues. Still, there's something there that's worth pursuing with.

I can't imagine we're just going to run it back. Surely we have something in the works?

Hayward opted out. It's true what you said about how much money he will lose, but I also said that he wanted to get out of Boston. With Hayward we are adding another ball handler and he is an improvement over Jae Crowder. We can sign him along the lines of four-years, $90 million. This will keep Miami flexible to sign Giannis Antetokounmpo in free agency. Gordon will be in beautiful Miami without taxes, a good group of players and playing in the finals every year of his contract. He was inclined to play for the Heat when Whiteside was our best player. We sign Gordon Hayward, Danilo Gallinari and Serge Ibaka, and we are back in the finals. I also mentioned about picking a fast, strong power forward to be part of the second unit on a rookie salary (Precious Achiuwa). If the Bucks want to trade Giannis, we can offer them Bam and that team wins the final.

We can't afford to sign Hayward now that Olynyk has opted in. The only way that would be possible is if we let Crowder, Dragic or both walk one of them walking gives us 14-15mil and both would give us roughly 28mil. Ibaka is possible for the MLE but he's been linked to LAL and BKN.

Most likely scenario is re-sign Dragic and Crowder and do a sign and trade for Gallinari centred around Olynyk and Nunn. Then we are free to use our MLE on a vet or two. Most likely someone like Matthews and a big man. I imagine Matthews isn't signing to LAL yet because its probably going to be a Vet min contract and he's waiting to see if he can get more somewhere like Miami.

We need to start a petition for Ibaka. Raid his Twitter page. Something.

Best chance we'd have at signing Ibaka is likely trading for Lowry I think. Which isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Olynyk, Nunn, DJJr S&T and a 2nd rounder maybe? They'd probably get something better elsewhere. But if they want to do right by Lowry and he wants to be here who knows?

Thats biggest question is whether Toronto would want to make us that much better. Those two would basically make us as good as we could currently be. No holes on that roster. That team is winning a chip. Would they do it for Nunn and DJJ?

If Toronto lose Ibaka and Van Vleet Gasol and Lowry wants to be moved then Toronto likely know they wont be in contention this year. Most likely though this will be a deal we make at the trade deadline when it will cost us almost nothing.

I wish there was a way to sign or trade for
Fred Vanvleet we would be very dangerous as a team.

I posed Kelly for Delon straight up in the GB and someone agreed to it.

Don't think that's a terrible deal.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Don't see how that isn't going to happen after the finish to his season. There would surely be plenty of teams that would at least offer him a 3-4yr MLE deal.

Miami should match up to 3/36, not sure why they wouldn't.

This is dope. Classy move by Miami.

Gogi deserves nothing but love and respect for what he has meant to this team. Been the ultimate pro since he got here. Never complained, always 100% committed and been a warrior on the court.

Whatever happens, nothing but love for our man The Dragon.

Harden Likely gets traded and to the East, I'm conflicted on whether I would rather they trade him to a terrible team or not-- cause I know Pat won't diss the young guys to get him here unless there's a great deal on the table, and I'd hate to see them send breh to be prisoner on a garbage team

We can’t afford to make the JJ/Dion mistake again.

Goran is one thing. Jae can’t be given a 3+ year deal. 1+1 is the largest I’d go and I’m hesitant for that.

If we can sign Gogi for 2-3 years with the ability to still get another player this year and a max next year I’m in

Yeah I agree considering we'd still have max space in 2021 if everyone else only came back on one year deals. I'd assume this all depends on what we'd be doing with the Gallinari deal.

This must be one of the worst managed moves in NBA history, A key piece going to a top contender for basically free and it falls apart because they forgot to ask the player...lol

Giannis must be wondering

We really shouldn't.

Can't overpay for a streaky over 30 role player.

So much player movement, a max guy guy could become available soon and we need to use the cap space wisely.

We should offer a bigger 1 year deal, if someone offers him lower multi year deal, that's Crowder's choice.

You save the long term money for consistent/young role players, for stars, or for high upside improving guys.
