Jay Bilas said the Miami Heat had the best draft of anyone. Got yourself a superstar PF, a starting PG that is a very complimentary to D-Wade, and Jackson who is someone that can do a lot of dirty work off the bench. Both the Kansas guys are straight up WINNERS and Beasley again is a superstar ready to happen. Weird to think that the Heat got their total draft from the state of Kansas. lol

Incredible draft by the Heat.

Got the best player in Beasley

Got a great backup PF/C type in Darnell Jackson- John Hollingers ratings had this guy as a late 1st round pick. He will bring alot of toughness off the bench.

The draft for Mario Chalmers was GREAT. We got our PG of the future who plays good D and can shoot the 3, so he should fit well next to Wade.

Plus it cant hurt having two guys from the same school, it will help them feel more comfortable.

Looks like we are trading Jackson to Cleveland for cash.

I guess, I just hope we somehow get rid of Blount. I would even pay a team to take him.

he is 19 w/ unlimited upside and an nba ready game...future HOFer? well see but i wouldnt be surprised...

Am not going to rag on Beasley now that he is a Heater.

I will ofcourse critique the Heat as a whole later in the season.

I hope we have good free agency, and have a good year.

"Incredibly, Heat president and ultimate decision-maker Pat Riley claimed he had to be persuaded to draft and keep Beasley rather than trade him in order to gain additional players and then in turn draft someone else.

''The people I listen to about personnel got me in a room and made sure Mr. Beasley would be a part of the Miami Heat,'' Riley said."

What makes riley great is that he can swallow his pride and listen.

Seriously.

Last time he listened we took Wade, maybe that had something to do with it.

Yea I love the fact that he can trust the people he works with. If he wasn't able to do that we'd have Kaman instead of Wade.

I just got this from heat.com

The HEAT began building for the 2008-09 season by taking do-it-all Kansas State forward Michael Beasley with the second pick in Thursday's NBA Draft. Just 19 years old, the 6-10 Beasley led the NCAA in rebounding at 12.4 per game and was third in scoring at 26.2 points per game as a freshman with the Wildcats. The HEAT also made two trades, acquiring a 2009 second-round pick from Cleveland and the rights to Kansas guard Mario Chalmers from Minnesota. Beasley Talks | More Beasley | Chalmers Talks

anybody hear about the Cleveland trade?

I guess that's what we got for Darnell Jackson.

Thank god it wasn't just cash.
