I know we would take the wall contract to make it possible but how? We'd literally have to gut the team.... what's the plan? Just roll w Winslow, Bam, Herro, Beal, KZ ,Nunn , Djjr and Butler and sigh vet mins?

We’d be looking at: Dragic/JJ/Dion/KO/Winslow out to get over the $65.3m coming back in a deal for Beal/Wall, but this adds up to $72.3m (Washington can take this amount back, but they would be wanting to clear cap not take on that much more). Leaving us with:
Wall/Nunn
Beal/Herro
Butler/DJJ/KZ
Bam/Robinson/Maten
Leonard

In September Bertrand can be added to make it salary neutral for both teams, but he just adds a PF and does nothing about our depth issue.

Idk if Beal is worth gutting our team and trading all those players away. I say roll w what we have for now and see what happens when Beal demands a trade to Miami (got a hunch that might just happen)

Let’s see we gut our team for Wall and Beal, do you guys think that move will lead us back to the finals ?

Of course we are talking about a healthy Wall

Other option is we move Leonard instead of Winslow in September, and take back Wagner. Only $3m difference, but they also get Leonard’s expiring.

Gives us Winslow/Beal/Butler/DJJ/Bam starring with Nunn/Herro/KZ/Robinson/Wagner off the bench until Wall is healthy. And about $3m to grab a couple vet mind to fill roles.

Another Twitter hope peddler is saying that a few teams have inquired about Griffin (Heat named as one, along with Bulls, Wolves and Blazers). If we could get him without losing Winslow/Bam/Herro then it would be worth exploring, but again we don’t have the pick assets.

I can't take anymore of that chit. I remember most of the community would be more disciplined when it came to that stuff. Used to be the inquisitor now it's anyone who can sell themselves on twitter the best and people eat it up.

It’s a no brainer to gut roster if you can get a core of:

Beal
Jimmy
Bam
DJJ
Herro

That team contends for a while.. fill in the blanks however else you can but keep those guys and you not only contend now but have serious upside too. If Wall is buys in and is able to provide some playmaking and defense down the road. thats just icing.

Espn has not helped either. Continously peddling the Heat once things keep falling by the way side. I dont think this Beal thing has any legs. It's just for TV hype and clicks. Probabaly at least 10 teams right now who would clobber our best offer if Beal was truly availible. I also dont want to hear about him forcing his way here crap. Wiz are a division rival. He's not a free agent. They have no reason to force anything as of yet and especially trading him to the Heat.

We would laugh when someone posted a link from the inquisitor now this year the boards have been flooded with these used car salesman twitter links. These phucking people have zero nothing sources. It would take an avalanche of things to happen for the Wiz to cower and trade Beal here before they attempted in trading him to a team out West first.

If Beal turns down his extension, which will be an extremely hard thing to do. The Wiz front office will be flooded with calls from every team in the NBA.

We got used in the Westbrook deal by the media and now i see the same exact thing being played out here with Beal. So funny how quickly they moved on to the next fake news clickbait. First it was Westbrook then it was Paul and now it's Beal and Wall. I can't wait for training camp already.

How many teams would agree to take on Wall's contract which Washington could very well chain to any trade involving Beal?

Probably not too many.

In September Bertrand can be added to make it salary neutral for both teams, but he just adds a PF and does nothing about our depth issue.

Fine i’ll say it, Beal has become overrated on this board.

I still dont beileve that's even possible or makes any sense at all. It would be such a bad look for the NBA and Wiz franchise for them to take a pennies on the dollar offer on a young stud like Beal just to get rid of a contract. Wiz would be better served getting an OKC style haul and maybe using dealing with Wall's contract down the road once the asset cupboard is full. Not forced to take the likes of Dragic, Waiters, Winslow, JJ, Olynyk, or whomever else you want to give purge with no draft pick compensation to give up. I love Beal. Would do everything possible to get him here but if i'm the Wiz. Miami is probably one of the very last places i'm shipping him too.

It's not just a bad contract, it's probably the worst contract in the league, the only way it gets close to making sense is if your team is contending. The players Washington gets, keep the ones you want long term and then part out the rest for assets for the next 2 years. Maybe they become a CP3 destination if they can get an asset or 2(like the most likely worst #1s OKC has).

The big thing, you have to be 99% sure Beal is good with extending in Miami.

IDK, I think CP3 Contract is slightly better then Beal and Wall combined contract.
