That is the market. No one is offering much more than the Heat.

More reality than fantasy.

This is the package i've been banging the table about. Larrson or Keshad Johnson will be the last sweetner and gets us to that 54.5 mark and also preserves enough cap space under the tax for the time being to offer Mitchell his 8.9 RFA.

Ironically I'd be sadder about losing Wiggins than Niko in that deal. Wiggins would be nice on this team with KD.

Jovic makes sense for the Suns over JJJ if they have plans to keep Wiggins as there starting SF. They already have a young wing in Ryan Dunn off the bench so JJJ would be clogging up Dunn's path and vice versa.

Miami traded for Shaq, and figured it out.

Miami acquired LeBron and Bosh, and figured it out.

Miami traded for Butler (and Dragic), and figured it out.

I have faith Miami can trade for Durant and figure it out.

None of those guys were 37 years old though and we didn't creative a massive need for the team in acquiring any of them. Moving Ware (on top of draft capital) would be extremely short sighted imo, and I'm already seeing people trying to talk themselves into some washed up center prospects because they are feeling pressure from Phx and want to cave in.

Don't make a bad deal. Push comes to shove, a Herro/Ware package with picks might net an Anthony Edwards or someone of that ilk a year from now. And I'm not advocating for trading either, just saying we would be fools to clear the cupboard for KD at his age.

Shaq had a history of issues with weight problems and Miami gave him a massive extension (5-years, $100M, iirc) at 32 despite his lack of commitment to fitness and everyone questioning how much he had left (Miami got the last squeeze of that lemon!). And it cost Miami Lamar Odom and Caron Butler, Miami's "future". It was a huge gamble.

Miami developed Udonis, got a career-year from a journeyman (Damon Jones), resuscitated Alonzo Mourning, Christian Laettner and Steve Smith...etc and lost in 7 to the Pistons in the ECF. The following year Miami took a gamble on Antoine Walker (~$50M), Jason Williams, made Jason Kapono look like a real NBA player, and got James Posey and Gary Payton -- post LA Laker bust -- to sign up for the adventure.

I've already listed teams, including Miami's that have made multiple ECF/Finals or won the title with stand-in centers/make-shift PFs.

Miami traded for Butler coming off a 39-43 season. They gave him a huge extension with no indication Miami had enough to make the Finals. You know the rest of that story.

Durant at 36 going on 37 is coming off what would have likely been a 2nd team all-NBA season had he played in 3 more games. To continue to focus on his age given his play is folly, imo. He's got a 2-3 year window at this level, and we've seen LeBron and Chris Paul continue to play at extremely high levels in the age range Durant would be playing in.

I know a lot of people would prefer Miami blow it all up and rebuild, but I'd much rather take my chances with Durant over 2-3 seasons -- especially given the plethora of vets with deep playoff experience that are available. But that's just my opinion.

Switch Niko with JJJ. I like Niko’s game a lot! Love the pace he brings with size! Burke can get the Duncan/JJJ minutes.

JJJ also makes more sense in terms of selling tickets and Jerseys in Az. It also puts him closer to LA, where he grew up.

And No to including the wildcat boys as sweetners!! No way should we be giving out too much more than what we got for Butler. That would be league BS to allow it to happen against and and not for us.

The Butler deal is the convo.

You get a starter, a role player and one 1st.

This early retirement nonsense money for superstars past their prime cant tread water.

I really do like the idea of JJJ in Arizona for sure. It’s very possible Wiggins gets shipped to a 3rd team. Possibly the Nets for Claxton.

Lol you expect teams to accept garbage for a guy who just had the season KD put up. JJJ is buns. Niko at least has some positive outlook.

If we end up keeping JJJ he might not be such a bad pairing with Durant. Would allow JJJ to play his cutting game more and stay close to the basket instead of out on the perimeter. Defensive metrics are also very solid for him.

A big who hovers around 20 PPG, grabs 5 rebounds and fouls a night and doesn’t playmake. Arguably the most overrated player of this current generation

If Bam put up his numbers, Heat fans would ne calling for his execution. Smh, Bam atleast rebounds.

If you’re throwing White Drip into the equation you can get Harden/KD likely without giving up Ware
